Is it possible that the original tally included spirit persons? Perhaps the Japanese church is using bookkeepers from CPL to compile their membership roles.
When I first made that comment the article had 300 million members listed in Japan which is twice the actual population. It has since been amended to one million members. Even at one million members of the Federation and a Japanese population of 127 million in 2010 that means that one person in 127 is a member of the Federation. I don’t see anything approaching that number when I look at the picture of the amount of people in the event. And the number of members world wide at 600,000 appears to be another fabrication. Please report accurately. Thank you.
The original number came from FFWPU Japan’s site (linked within the article above). After the first comment was received we consulted with Kodan for an accurate number of members in Japan. If you are unsatisfied with the report please contact Japan directly.

How can the total membership in Japan be twice as many as the population in 2010? And 300,000 members world wide is quite a stretch.
