Together We Can Make Miracles
Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, regional chairman of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) North America, gave these closing remarks and message from Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, co-founder of FFWPU and affectionately known as True Mother, at the weekly Tuesday call with FFWPU-USA leaders. Many on the call gave reports and presentations before Dr. Kim’s closing remarks. Below is the recorded Zoom call, as well as the English transcription of his message on March 31, 2020.
Thank you, Rev. Dunkley. I was so impressed by everybody’s great dedication, plans, and great outcome. When I watched the national Last Week Today update, I was so impressed by the YAYAM team and how they prepared this online system for educating our second generation and our family members. I didn’t know we had so many online education classes centered around YAYAM. I am very grateful, and I appreciate Kaeleigh and her team.
Blessing and Ministry Department, Education Department, and TribeNet, thank you so much for your incredible effort. More than anything else, our second-generation is our great hope. True mother initiated this next 7-year course with the second and third generation, specifically with Hyo Jin Moon’s sons. This is True Mother’s very clear and concise and precise message to the world after True Mother proclaimed the victory of Cheon Il Guk (this past February).
Thank you, Kaye Allen, for these last 40 years. I know your team tried to plan out your department until the end of this year, but then this crisis hit us and you decided to make the transition right away.
Thank you for your leadership and for leading all our activities centering on True Parents. Thank you so much. As you know, HSAUWC, more so than ever before, has had a lot of legal actions to deal with lately. So, I appreciate that Olga Maljitova has agreed to take over Kaye Allen’s difficult position [as the Director of Legal Affairs at HSA-UWC]. We are very sorry before True Parents and Heavenly Parent for whoever caused these legal issues. We have to take care of it, and so far, we have done a great job. I give credit to Kaye and Olga and all our legal professionals for the great job done. Thank you.
Thank you, Jinil Fleishman, for accepting the [interim President of] CARP position. We all know how important our youth are to True Mother, who gives great encouragement to our young second generation. “Jin-il” in Korean means “Goon”—it’s not quite like “Mr.” True Father used this term many times. “Goon” means “young gentlemen.” True Father used to use “Goon” in place of “Mr.” Jinil, the last time I was in Dallas, I heard about your commitment and your family’s commitment. I wish Dallas becomes another place that flourishes with CARP activities and has more of an impact on our community going forward and on the secular and campus community as well.
I recently learned that the many Cheong Jeong Museum staff, who are attending True Mother, and the many FFWPU International headquarters staff in Korea are so committed, that they brought their children from home to the Cheongpyeong complex and are practicing shelter-in-place within the complex. This way, many of those who serve and attend True Mother very closely, physically and externally, can be available right away. Nowadays, many states, many cities, and even many governors are proclaiming shelter-in-place, and these brothers and sisters are choosing to stay near True Mother within this complex, and they are not free to go home. Overnight they do prayer conditions for the sake of True Parents and the sake of the worldwide providence. When I hear about this kind of sincere dedication, I learn so many things about the younger generation and their heart, their love, and their prayers for our dear True Mother and our beloved brothers and sisters. We are so happy we have great brothers and sisters around True Mother, in Korea, in Japan, and America, and together we can overcome this crisis.
Please be careful, and please stay well and healthy. Don’t think, “Oh, I’m very strong!” I heard yesterday, in New York, one doctor mentioned that young men and women are not immune to the virus so everybody can get infected. As much as possible, please follow CDC guidelines and local government guidelines. This is a special message from our True Mother.
And one more thing: so many people have lost their jobs. They now have no other options. Please let us pray for them, and please call them to say I love you. And let us go back—as the Blessing Department just shared [in their report]—let us inherit True Parents’ traditions. Similarly, what were the traditions of our forefathers when they founded this country, America, that was so wonderful and so beautiful that God blessed this country? This country is now waiting for other founding fathers—founding families like blessed central families. We will help those who are struggling and bring them a sense of peace and great hope. I received protective gloves from my neighbor. Maybe tomorrow I will stop by my neighbor’s with masks. I don’t know where I can get these masks. I went to Walgreens the other day, but they didn’t have that kind of mask available. But the point is, this neighbor practiced this kind of giving.
The [loss of jobs] is not just happening in America; this is universal. I heard about what is happening in Japan and Korea, so please think about others. We are going through something we have never gone through before. Please be more serious and be ready to sacrifice and struggle together with our brothers and sisters within our communities.
Please, more than anybody else, I am praying every morning for those who have international marriage blessings. Many of us have a Japanese spouse [who may still be in Japan right now]. When I first came here to America, True Parents shared with me that this is the blessed land. However, this land is kind of difficult with all it’s social barriers and social wars. This is the reason that [True Father] came here; to break this war and bring everybody together centering on God and centering on True Parents’ love.
Once again, let us come together, centering on True Parents and Heavenly Parent. Then, we will bring a miracle to overcome this. We don’t know how long this situation will last—three months we hope, maybe six. But even if it lasts one year, when we come together, we will find the way out and bless people around our nation and world.
I am very happy our GPA participants came home and are studying online together and praying together. They are even witnessing together online. I pray for those missionaries who had to stay in Peru and the Dominican Republic and who are waiting for the airport to lift their restrictions. Please pray for their safe return home as soon as possible. Many parents are concerned about this. Please comfort them and pray for them. If you know parents who are in this situation, please call them and get more information. Your one phone call can make a big difference to their hearts, showing you care. These are my final remarks [for today].
Thank you, Rev. Dunkley, and thank you to our leadership team and all our headquarters’ department leaders and all our organizational leaders and all our subregional leaders. Thank you, and God bless you all.
