The Power of Peace at Cornerstone Baptist Church
At the American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC) Prayer Breakfast on November 3, Pastor Rev. Lawrence Aker of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York stood as the keynote speaker, asking for God’s hand in our lives. During the Prayer Breakfast Pastor Aker was introduced to Markus Karr, President of The Manhattan Center, and found they both attended Yale University Graduate School. Pastor Aker then invited Mr. Karr, along with clergy members and other Unificationists to his church on Sunday, November 4 to invite his congregation to the upcoming Peace Starts With Me rally on November 12 and to celebrate his church’s 101st anniversary.
On Sunday, after warmly welcoming his guests, Pastor Aker gave an impassioned call to not lose hope during times of injustice, as “God will always have the last word.” He then promoted the rally himself before inviting Mr. Karr to speak upon the subject and encourage people to attend. After the service, Rev. Hiroshi Inose, Director of Kodan, and his wife, Mrs. Hatsune Inose, along with a few other Unificationists signed up 70 guests to come to the Peace Starts With Me rally.
