Scripture Translation Project Nears Completion
Editors and translators are doing a final read-through of the English version of the Cham Bumo Gyeong, the third volume of Holy Scriptures after the Cheon Seong Gyeong and Pyeong Hwa Gyeong. It will be printed and presented to True Mother at the third anniversary of True Father’s Seonghwa. The team was assembled earlier this year in March, and have since been working tirelessly to complete the translation. On July 20, 2015, a group of eight people gathered at East Garden to begin the next and final phase: reading the Cham Bumo Gyeong out loud, Hoon Dok Hwe style, to make any final style changes.
“On a typical day we sit around the table and we read the text,” described Cynthia Shibuya, a member of the reading team. “For the first two days we each read a paragraph, and after a section we would go over and everyone would explain where there feel needs to be corrected. We did a lot of correcting. Today we changed the style a little bit; now we’re just reading through it and then putting aside any correction for later.”
The translation team is currently joined by layout team from Korea, which is working with the American team to generate the manuscript for publication. Two of the Korean team members are here in America for the first time, and were deeply moved to visit the 9/11 museum in New York City, as well as the Grand Ballroom at the New Yorker Hotel where True Father often spoke.
The team has been working closely with Julian Grey and the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) International Headquarters translation department in Korea. Director Seog Byung Kim, President of iPeace TV, has been overseeing the publication of the books and provided much support and resources from Korea toward the translation project. Members of the translation team and FFWPU USA feel blessed with the opportunity to lead the English translation project and to work with an international team to offer this invaluable text to True Mother and the world.
The Cham Bumo Gyeong details True Parents’ course in their own words, and provides great insight into the heart and life of True Parents. “The content is so rich,” said Hee Hoon Standard, a translator for the project. “This book is truly is amazing book. I have never read such a rich content, especially one that introduces True Parents’ life from every angle. I have been involved in this project for five months straight, working 12 hours a day, at least. Whenever I am working on this book it really moves my heart so much. Many times I shed tears so I hope this book can be really read by many people.”
“If a person wants to really understand True Father this is the place to go,” said Rev. Tyler Hendricks, co-supervisor of the project. “He presents his whole life step by step and very deeply, and you can see how there is one vision that True Father had from the very beginning to the very end.”
“I’m very very happy to have this material to work with in my classes,” said Andrew Wilson, editor and professor at the Unification Theological Seminary.
The completion of the English translation is an exciting occasion, as this project provides the basis for translation into French, Japanese and Spanish. Look for updates on the availability of this text at the link below.

Wonderful news! Thank you to everyone who is investing so much effort to translate these precious words from Korean into the English language, eventually to all the other languages in the world.
