True Parents at the Garden
Tickets are no longer available online. Your local pastor may have tickets available.
True Mother Will Speak at Madison Square Garden, July 15!
Yes, it’s official! True Mother will return to America and speak at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, July 15, 2017. That date is an important anniversary: it was on July 15, 2012 that True Father left the United States for the last time to return to Korea. We didn’t know then that it would be the last time to see him in America.
It is very meaningful that exactly five years later, True Mother will speak of the dream of God and True Parents at this most illustrious venue. This event will be the latest chapter in True Parents’ long history at Madison Square Garden. In 1974, True Father delivered his landmark message “The New Future of Christianity” to an overflow crowd there, and True Parents returned to the Garden to officiate the Holy Blessing of 2075 couples in 1982, and then again for the great interfaith Blessing ’98.
July 15, 2017 will be an unforgettable opportunity to share about God and True Parents’ dream for humankind. Join us in New York for this historic event!
About
It will be an all-ticket event, and supplies are very limited. The day after Madison Square Garden, on Sunday, July 16, we will have a huge, happy victory picnic party at Belvedere. A block of several hundred rooms has been reserved at the New Yorker for Friday and Saturday, July 14 – 15, so please make a long weekend of it!
How to Support
We want to encourage all families in America to join us in making an all-out effort to bring about a great, historic success.
- Pray! First of all, let us all offer sincere prayers for Heavenly Parents and True Parents’ complete victory. Let us pray for True Mother, and pray that God can use this opportunity to effect a great change in this nation, desperately in need of His word and guidance. A national 40-day condition of prayer will begin on June 5 and will carry to July 14. Let us use the coming week to jump start on this condition with fervent prayers. Join the Call!
- Be There! Second, no matter where you live, please make definite plans to come, not alone but with your family, relatives, neighbors and tribe. You just have to be there! The program will have something for everyone, not just for FFWPU but all of our friends at UPF, ACLC, WFWP, CARP and all organizations.
- Donate! Third, we could really use your help to raise the funds to hold such a prestigious event. We’d like to invite all families to donate $700 or more if possible. Online donations can be made now at the FFWPU Special Donation Page.
How to Share the News
You can find promotional materials ready to download and print here. Share flyers, posters, bookmarks and more in your local community to help spread the word!
Also, be sure to visit the Facebook page and invite all your friends!
Accommodations
Please visit this link to reserve your New Yorker Hotel rooms. The rate of $149 is per night per room (there will be tax added but all other fees have been waived). You can select your room type and number of nights at the time of reservation. This rate is guaranteed until June 30. After that date, the rate may go up. Please act fast to reserve your rooms to ensure we can keep our block and this rate.
Q: How can I get my ticket if there is no FFWPU local church or pastor in my area?
A: If you do not have a local church or pastor in your area, you can also pick up your ticket at the door on July 15.
Q: What time do doors open? What time does the program begin and end?
A: Doors will open at 2:00pm on Saturday, July 15. The main program will start at 3:00pm and is expected to conclude around 5 to 5:30pm.
Q: Where is the entrance to Madison Square Garden?
A: The Garden is located at Four Pennsylvania Plaza, (7th Avenue between W 31st St and W 33rd St), New York, NY 10001
We will be using the main entrance through the passage off of 7th Ave. Behind the entrance to Penn Station.
Q: Will I have to go through security?
A: In accordance with Madison Square Garden regulations, everyone entering the venue, without exception, will be going through security before entering the ticket area. Please allow additional time for screening.
Q: Are seats assigned? If so, how?
A: Seating is assigned by ticket. You need the white MSG printed ticket to enter and get your seat.
If you need special seating for wheel chair, MSG Staff will meet you at the door and provide you with those specific tickets.
Q: How can I have access to translation services?
A: All participants must bring a fully charged cellphone (it does not have to be a smart phone) and personal headsets. Additional earbuds will be available at the door, or with the ushers, as needed. If some in your party do not have phones (such as children), we recommend a headphone splitter and an additional headset to allow another person to listen from the same phone. Another option is to get a cheap pre-paid phone.
To access translation, you will call a toll free number and enter an access code (PIN NUMBER). Different PIN numbers will access different language translations. Numbers will be provided before and during the event.
Translation will be available from English to Korean, Japanese and Spanish, and True Mother’s speech will be translated to English, Japanese, and Spanish.
ADDITIONAL NOTE for INTERNATIONAL VISITORS only: You are strongly encouraged to make prior arrangements to be able to make cheap phone calls in the USA, either through your cellular provider or through an app that provides WiFi calling. There is WiFi in the Garden, but this may be overloaded if too many people try to access it at once.
Q: Can I bring food to the event?
A: No outside food or beverage are allowed in MSG. We recommend eating lunch before entering the venue. However, the concessions stands will be open and snacks can be purchased at MSG.
Q: How should I come dressed to the event?
A: Please dress with your Sunday attire. Bright and cheerful to meet True Parents.
Q: Can I still reserve a room at the New Yorker Hotel?
A: A block of rooms was secured at the New Yorker Hotel at a lower rate than usual. There are still rooms available, but only those with one queen bed.
You may reserve your room at the following link: https://www.wyndhamhotels.com/groups/family-federation-event-at-msg.
Please be sure to arrange your own accommodations and transportation to and from MSG. Please check with your pastor if they made any transportation or accommodations by group if needed.
Q: Can I have more details for the victory celebration on July 16?
A: There is a plan for a celebration at the Double Tree Hotel in Tarrytown. There is very limited seating, so priority is given to international visitors, participants of the Hyo Jeong youth program and visitors from out-of-town, as space permits.
If you are visiting from anywhere other than the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut area, please contact your District Pastor to see about space availability at that celebration. Otherwise, you are invited to the Sunday Service at Belvedere, after which a light lunch will be available.
Most local communities in New York and New Jersey area plan to hold their own regular Sunday Service.
Those who are staying at the New Yorker Hotel until Sunday, and wish to join the Double Tree or Belvedere celebrations (as per your pastor), will be able to join a bus going to Tarrytown from the hotel. The round-trip fee is $20 payable by cash on the bus. If interested in this transportation, please register here.
Q: How can I get promotional materials?
A: Promotional materials can be found on http://msgjuly15.org/promote. Download flyers, postcards & more for free. You may then print them at your local or online printer and help spread the word!
Q: I am not part of any choir. Can I still join the 2000 voice choir on July 15?
A: Yes! You may register individually by going to http://2000voice.org/choir/ and selecting ‘Individual Singers’ before completing the form.
Q: Is there anything else I should know?
This event will be filmed with video and still cameras, and will be broadcast internationally. By entering the premises you give your consent for your image to be used, including your minor children.

What if you don’t have a headset plug on your phone? What if one doesn’t even have a cell phone?

Hi Carmen,
If you don’t have a headphone jack on your phone, consider purchasing a headphone splitter and headphones, so you can plug into the phone of the person sitting beside you. Please also check this page later this week in case more information on translation options becomes available.

It says to bring a cell phone for translation but does not really say how the content will be delivered.
Will people be dialing a phone number for the duration of the speech, or downloading an app, or using WiFi to connect with a browser for instance? That could affect what type of phone someone should bring, for example will people need a smart phone? Will everyone including guests need to use a phone for listening?

The FAQ has been updated to the following: Translation services will be offered via calling in. Be sure to bring a cell phone for translation purposes, as well as headphones. Make sure your cell phone battery is charged enough to use throughout the event. Smartphones are not necessary. Translation services will be offered in English, Japanese, and Spanish.
