Interreligious harmony is a must to bring world peace. This gathering as it was reported was tremendous. I hope that events like these are more often and can get the speed of Heaven to turn the world back to His loving, peaceful standard no more wars or killings and true love in the families and among all people.

It was Swami Vivekananda, a wandering Hindu monk, who gave the main speech in 1893, if there was a main speech. Buddhism was represented by the preacher Anagarika Dharmapala, who was invited there as a representative of “Southern Buddhism”, which was the term applied at that time to the Theravada, who are not always big fans of the Mahayana Dalai Lama, who was not present in 1893!

I am serving as Director of Interreligious Affairs in Toronto. I am part of the Interfaith community of the Horizon Group here. It will be nice if Canada also included in the North American group to represent Unification Movement.

Thanks for sharing this informative report! It’s really uplifting to see people of different faiths gathering to share their faith and learn about the religious practices and traditions of others. Also, the photos are a big plus in giving a sense of what transpired.
