Outreach from Coast to Coast
With the latest outreach efforts launched in Las Vegas, Hawaii and Dallas, spring is kicking off with outreach activities in communities all across the United States. This week, Unificationists in Los Angeles and Northern Virginia have picked up the momentum, inviting people from around the nation to join in.

Unificationists in Los Angeles kicked off their outreach activities on March 29, 2015, and have one more week to go. Hiroshi Inose, newly appointed Itinerary Worker for the United States, visited from New York and shared internal guidance on April 1 for two volunteers who came from out of state. He explained that guests will be growing along with the outreach participants, and listening to them is just as important as teaching them. He encouraged participants to sincerely pray for them, and God will provide them with what they need.
That same day, six members of the outreach team set out to speak with students at a local community college. Thirteen students listened to a Divine Principle introduction, and five of them made appointments to learn more.
Tomoko Taira, a member of the outreach team, said, “I met some guests since I started participating in outreach this week. It is interesting that they have similar problems than I do, which they and I want to overcome. For example, a guest told me that he wants to make a good contribution for the sake of the world, but he is thinking about how to make money first, and it is his main concern. By listening to him, I felt his attitude reflected my own mind, which is kind of focusing external things first. By having this experience, I determined to overcome and start relating with guests with the heart of a parent.”

The Northern Virginia (NOVA) Family Church outreach efforts began on April 1, 2015 and continue for the next three weeks until April 21, 2015. On the first day, 12 people, including two from the New Hope Family Church in Maryland, were present to kick off the 21-day outreach revival. They met, shared and prayed at the NOVA Learning Center, paused for a photograph and then went out to find new friends.
Most outreach was done at the nearby Northern Virginia college campus. They passed out flyers for the monthly Divine Principle seminars to students, along with survey sheets and invitations to the always popular NOVA Sushi class. Two college students were excited to sign up for the sushi class, because they had just been talking about trying to make it themselves. The two young Unificationists who had approached them, Lily Patton and Junko Sugawara, found it easy to strike up conversations with fellow students. In just a couple of hours, 15 people gave their names and contact information for follow-up, and several made appointments for lectures and meals together.
The outreach team looks forward to the next few weeks and the great new friendships they will make while sharing the teachings of True Parents.
