The National Ministry Team of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) USA gathered at The New Yorker hotel on February 20 for their monthly meeting to discuss ongoing initiatives and the latest happenings in Korea; including the World Summit 2020 and the 2020 Hyojeong Cosmic Blessing.
Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, regional chairman of Family Federation North America, spoke about the recent publication of FFWPU Co-founder Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon’s autobiography. “As I read the Korean version of True Mother’s book, there were many things I didn’t know about True Parents’ lives. I had to read and reread it to fully digest it,” said Dr. Kim. He urged everyone to read the autobiography thoroughly, chapter by chapter, once the English version becomes available. True Mother is an affectionate term used by Unificationists when referring to Dr. Moon.
The launch of the World Clergy Leadership Conference (WCLC) on December 28 of last year was the pinnacle of True Mother’s dedicated efforts for peace over the last seven years, which she details in her autobiography. True Mother will continue working closely with Christianity throughout the next seven years, with the American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC) as the center of unity efforts in America. “ACLC pastors must stand up and celebrate True Mother,” said Dr. Kim. “We must be real leaders before God and True Parents. We must go out and testify to True Parents: this is our mission.”
Dr. Kim’s spoke more on True Mother’s autobiography during his Sunday sermon at the Clifton Family Church, which you can watch here.
Rev. Demian Dunkley, president of FFWPU-USA, also discussed True Mother’s ongoing efforts for global peace. “True Mother has guided us through a storm for seven years with total commitment and steadfast vision, until one by one we have begun to understand what we are working towards,” said Rev. Dunkley. “For the next seven years, we have to hit the ground running. We are driving towards something quite miraculous already, and we are going to continue to build on the strategies we are already implementing.
Rev. Dunkley also mentioned the ongoing ACLC Chosen workshop taking place in Las Vegas which will lead into Famicon, a national-level gathering where FFWPU-USA leaders will develop strategic state-by-state plans based on True Mother’s guidance.
Dr. Michael Jenkins, president of Universal Peace Federation (UPF) International, spoke about the recent World Summit 2020 in Korea, which was featured on the front page of The Washington Times. Among the participants were 373 American leaders and thousands of international leaders, including a former United Nations Secretary-General. “It was amazing to see all these organization leaders convening in peace,” said Dr. Jenkins. “True Mother’s speech was the epicenter of God’s providence for the World Summit, piercing through everything and bringing everyone together.”
Yun-A Johnson, newly-installed director of the Blessing & Family Ministry (BFM), shared pictures and testimonies from couples who attended the 2020 Hyojeong Cosmic Blessing in Korea and various locations across the United States. “Going the path of the Blessing is a journey, there is a lot behind how those couples got there,” said Johnson. “One of our goals for BFM is to create excitement around the whole process of the Blessing, because it is exciting!”
Thomas McDevitt, chairman of the HJ Magnolia Foundation and The Washington Times, presented on the 2020 World Peace Media Conference, an offshoot meeting of the World Summit 2020. The gathering attracted thousands of media trailblazers and journalists from Africa, Asia and the Americas. Nancy Jubb, director of FFWPU Communications, spoke about UPF’s groundbreaking press release, “World Leaders Brave Coronavirus for Peace Talks in Asia,” which was translated into 17 languages and picked up by 763 organizations, reaching a potential audience of 1.7 billion. The Cosmic Blessing press release was also picked up by numerous media outlets around the world, including BBC News and Reuters. “When True Mother does something or says something, our goal is for the media to want to immediately react and cover it,” said Jubb.
Michael Faris, president of Ocean Peace, tied the monthly meeting together in the most unlikely of ways with his presentation on Ocean Peace. According to Faris, what began with the 1984 construction of a single steel-hulled vessel under the guidance of True Parents, gradually transformed into the biggest North Pacific fishing company in America. Faris emphasized the importance of loving and investing in the things given to us, as they will become great assets in the future.
