New Jersey Hosts Discussion on God and Modern Science
On January 12, first and second generation Unificationists gathered at the Clifton Family Church in New Jersey to discuss current scientific knowledge and how it relates to the Unification Movement’s teachings. Dr. Richard Lewis, who holds a PhD in Physical Biochemistry and is currently the Senior Science Advisor at the Unification Thought Institute, facilitated the discussion and has long been a student and teacher of both science and Unification Thought.
The event started with a presentation by Dr. Lewis on the foundations of scientific knowledge, as it has developed over time, leading up to the modern scientific concepts of dark energy and epigenetics. Dr. Lewis expressed that quantum wave functions may be the innate internal nature of matter, forming the basis for the emergence of free will at a very fundamental level. As much as 96% of the known universe is made up of either dark matter or dark energy, of which humankind currently has no real knowledge or understanding, leaving the universe wide open for connections to a spiritual world. The emerging field of epigenetics may soon shed light on mechanisms by which natural law could guide the evolutionary process.
Throughout the event, participants had the opportunity to dive into and question the concepts brought up by Dr. Lewis and other participants. Some points brought up were a possible connection between universal prime energy and the background field described by statistical electrodynamics, issues with postulating that our free will originates from the randomness of quantum wave functions, practical considerations and ideas for approaching the design of a spirit machine, and the plausibility of the Adam and Eve origin story when compared to the story told by our genetic code.
Participants left the workshop empowered by the opportunity to hash out and share their scientific questions and insights stemming from their study of science and living in a Unificationist community. The open and unassuming nature of these discussions were the highlight for most of the participants. In facilitating this event, Dr. Lewis stressed that though science cannot prove the existence of God at this time, he hoped that this event has helped its participants to better see that our beliefs are not “hostile to science” and vice versa.

The Copenhagen interpretation of Quantum Mechanics put human beings at the center of the Universe just as the DP does.

Fine report. Where is the video for watching? What is next, technology, engineering, medicine, more on scientific research like parapsychology, practical applications?

Alex Beebe put the video on Vimeo.
Our son Dr Godfrey Miller is the tallest guy in the back.
He also gave a great sermon in Philadelphia Family Church on Scientific of the Divine Creation of Human Intelligence!
