For the first time ever, GPA will be doing missionary work in Costa Rica this year. They are planning to collaborate with CARP Costa Rica to do three months of witnessing with this year’s Cheon Il Guk missionaries, and they’re inviting alumni to join them. There is limited space available so please apply quickly! GPA intends to cover the costs of flying to and staying in the country while you are witnessing, so this is a great opportunity to volunteer, take a break from school or work, and support the providence!

The Cheon Il Guk missionaries will start their work in Costa Rica on February 14, and will stay for three months (until May 13). If you cannot commit for the full three months, the team would still love to have you if you can only stay between one or two months. 

The CARP center in Costa Rica already has two groups of second generation Unificationist missionaries working and living at the center; one from Japan and one from Korea. For the most part the Cheon Il Guk missionaries come not knowing any Spanish at all, so don’t worry if your Spanish is limited (although proficiency would help!).  

All the witnessing is done at the University of Costa Rica, which is about 40 minutes away from the center by bus and walking. It is the oldest, largest, and most prestigious college in Costa Rica.  A two-day Divine Principle workshop is held once or twice a month for the interested guests and is taught by a local first generation Costa Rican Unificationist who is in charge of the FFWPU education department in San Jose. She is a very interactive and engaging lecturer and she teaches in Spanish.
