Foundation Day Marriage Blessing

February 20, 2016 was a beautiful day, with thousands of couples in Korea and around the world receiving the Marriage Blessing. True Mother presided over the ceremony in Korea, which took place with 3,000 couples and 30,000 spectators, including elder blessed families, VIPs from Korea and abroad and Ambassadors for Peace, at the Cheong Shim Peace World Center at 9:00am. Local ceremonies were held simultaneously in 62 nations including the United States, United Kingdom, France, Japan, Israel, Austria, Taiwan, Russia, Brazil, and Kenya, Blessing 12,000 couples as they watched the broadcast of the event, which was filled with messages of hope and congratulations, musical entertainment, and prayers for the couples’ futures. The first part of the ceremony was the third anniversary of Foundation Day. After the presentation of a commemorative video of True Parents, True Mother gave her address. 

True Mother emphasized during the Foundation Day celebration, “Today, we are standing on the foundation of the successful completion of the third anniversary of Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s Seonghwa Memorial Ceremony. We are starting the third year of Foundation Day and fourth year of Cheon Il Guk. All Blessed families should keep in mind to establish ‘Vision 2020’ in the coming four years, which is the wish of the Heavenly Parent and all humankind, the dream of One Family Under God. Let us establish the Kingdom of Heaven, the nation of heaven and hope for all humankind, with the accomplishment of our Tribal Messiahship within these four years of hope.’”

The second part of the program was the Cosmic Blessing Ceremony. True Mother conducted the Holy Water Ceremony, blessing the couples as they affirmed their vows. Newlywed and previously married couples dedicated their love to God, pledging themselves in eternal marriage before heaven.
