National Ministry Team Message by Dr. Ki Hoon Kim

The following message was given by Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, the Continental Chair of FFWPU North America, on September 15, 2015.

We are often concerned about what’s next, what’s after me, but God prepared people around us who are doing better. My reflections of these 21 days in Korea celebrating the Seonghwa ceremony and the World Summit conference and the inauguration of the Sunhak Peace Prize, so many activities centering on True Parents, as other people mentioned, we can bring miracles centering on True Mother. More than ever, as you have seen in True Mother’s message over the last three years how she’s changed every time. Have you noticed that? If you haven’t, please check again; see True Mother’s message during the first Seonghwa ceremony and True Mother’s message that we saw today, how big a difference there is. I really feel the embodiment of True Father in spirit, the embodiment of Heavenly Parent; True Mother’s spirit is like that. More than ever, True Mother feels, “I am the person to carry on the mission of Heavenly Parent, the mission of True Parents.” More than ever, she has that kind of spiritual power and confidence. Let’s give her a big hand.

We have so many worries, but whenever I see her and hear her message, I have confidence. I have confidence centering on True Mother. She’s really embodying True Father’s spirit and Heavenly Parent’s spirit. I am confident. Yes, we have many worries, but that is nothing compared to this confidence centering on True Parents and True Mother.

In this video clip that we saw on iPeaceTV today, True Mother mentioned Joan of Arc. When Joan first stood up for God, do you know how old she was? Sixteen. Think about when True Mother held the Holy Wedding with True Father, how old was she? Sixteen. At the age of 16 True Father received the revelation from Jesus. The number of 16 is an amazing number. I believe that everyone here is older than 16. However, we have the same kind of spirit. Think about True Father’s testimony when he first met True Mother before the Holy Wedding. When he met True Mother for the first time, he was surprised and said, “Thank you, Heavenly Father, that You prepared Hak Ja Han for God’s Providence and for the Second Coming of the Messiah acting together.” We can go on and on about the history of True Father’s and True Mother’s Holy Wedding.

True Father and True Mother are the True Parents. Many people are concerned about our True Parents and True Parents’ family. America is in the elder son’s position. Without the elder son standing up strongly in leadership, our parents cannot rest or relax. America, we must stand up in the era of turmoil today, like Joan of Arc, like [Korean independence fighter] Ryu Gwansun, like True Mother. True Father didn’t know anything about it, but God was raising True Mother for the time when she could meet True Father and carrying on the mission of Heavenly Providence. We need to implant that spirit here in America, in our church.

Let America be in the elder son’s position before True Father and True Mother, and let us lead God’s providence for restoration. That’s why I always mention True Mother whenever I start any message, and how she always brought up the mission of America. “Why did I come to America, why did I suffer, why did our family suffer here in America?” Always she reminded us about the mission of America. Why? I was praying so many times, why True Mother for the last three years always mentioned this;­­­­ on the one hand I feel very proud of being a leader here in America, but on the other hand I feel pain in my heart. We should have done a lot better than we did over the last 50 years centering on True Parents. Still, True Father and True Mother are relying on us, America. Nobody can take away the position of the elder son nation. Nobody fulfilled the mission of elder son, but now this time has come again after we celebrated the memorial service of True Father’s third Seonghwa. Let us bring this spirit back to this country. Please let us do well in the position of elder son. Only the elder son can bring happiness and joy to True Parents. More than anything else, when their children are doing well, that brings the most joy to True Parents and Heavenly Parent.

I learned again about True Mother’s message. Our goal was: How can we grow, how can our church grow? Where can you find these kinds of answers? It’s very simple: First let us become divine spirits like the Holy Spirit. We really need to cultivate our life to become a divine spirit. True Mother said, be a divine spirit all the time. The activities in our daily life should be filled with the divine spirit. How can we bring that kind of divine spirit in me, in our church, in our community? Prayer and Hoon Dok Hwe (scripture)—these are the first things in your church growth before the message. Before the message, we must raise ourselves like that. Be like Jesus, True Father, True Mother, and Heavenly Parent: perfect. This is the first condition.

The citizens of Cheon Il Guk (God’s kingdom), most people are concerned because we do not have the same character as the Messiah, even though we believe in the Messiah. We still have a different character, different ideas still, so this is the problem. Even though we follow the Messiah, why do we have different ideas? Even though the 12 disciples centered on Jesus, they all had different ideas as well. Because of that, Jesus went to the cross. Cheon Il Guk means we must come together like one family. Even in one family the husband and wife may be struggling, parents and children struggling, they have their own ideas. This is the most challenging point within one family; if we have different ideas, how can we bring Cheon Il Guk? One family under God, centering on True Parents and Heavenly Parent. 

First is the divine spirit, next is truth. Yes, True Parents brought the message of Divine Principle. We have so many new messages from Heavenly Parent, from Heaven. Next, we must practice love in our church, in our community. These three core elements are the fundamental foundation; we can stand strong, we can grow. If we don’t, we are just praying, we are dreaming; it will not happen to me or to you next day, or next year, or after one generation, so we must do it. First be like a divine spirit and be very truthful. Around us there is so much gossip, “Oh, did you see this video? Did you hear about this?” Wrong information, false ideas come here and there. Some people say they are confused, but I am never confused when we adhere to True Parents. True Mother is very clear on four points. First, let us inherit the value of True Parents. Second point, let us fulfill our responsibility as a blessed central family, so that’s why the Blessing is very important. We have the same spirit, yes, we will bring this country back to become God’s country.

What is the ideal of a blessed central family? How can we fulfill the ideal of a blessed central family? What is the purpose of creation? The four-position foundation. How can you be a true son before your parents? Centering on God there must be True Father and True Mother; how can you erase True Mother? That is not the four-position foundation. This is True Father’s message. What is the ideal of a blessed central family? Build a four-position foundation. What we know is the truth; how can we fulfill our portion of responsibility as a blessed central family and be a true tribal messiah? The fourth and last point is, let us cultivate shimjung culture in the same way that True Mother directed four different kinds.

Let us value True Parents’ tradition, and let us fulfill the ideal of a blessed central family, and be a great tribal messiah, and let us cultivate shimjung culture. I really believe that True Mother has very clear ideas, and with these ideas we have confidence, and I see her embodying True Father and Heavenly Parent.
