Peace Starts With Me
Nassau Veterans Coliseum, Long Island, New York
November 12, 3 PM – Doors open 2 PM
Accommodation and Transportation
Please be sure to arrange your own accommodations and transportation to and from the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum located at 1255 Hempstead Turnpike, Uniondale, NY 11553.
Please also ask your pastor if he or she had already made any transportation or accommodation plans for your group.
Suggested Accommodations
Currently, there is no specific block of rooms at any hotel.
The closest hotel to the Nassau Coliseum is the Long Island Marriott. It is just across the court from the Nassau Coliseum and is about a 25 minutes’ drive from JFK, and 30 minutes from LGA.
There is also the Red Roof PLUS+, which is a 5 minute drive from the Coliseum and a 35 minute drive from for JFK and LGA.
There are other hotels Around the Coliseum that can fit various budgets. These are within a 5-10 minutes drive from the Coliseum.
Another option is the New Yorker hotel, which is near Penn Station for trains to Long Island. There is a discounted rate at the New Yorker through this link: Family Federation at the New Yorker – Nov. 10-13
Transportation
The Nassau Coliseum website includes detailed driving instructions for the Tri-State area.
If you’re driving, please note that you’ll need a parking pass. If you purchase the parking pass on Ticketmaster, it’s about $20. Regular parking onsite is $30.
There are also suggestions for public transportation.
The closest train station to the Coliseum is Hempstead, NY. However, trains from Penn Station to Hempstead run about once an hour on Holidays.
If you get the train to Hempstead, the bus terminal is a block away. You can take the N70 or N71 for about 10 minutes (9 stops). The bus will drop you off at Hempstead Turnpike and Glenn Curtiss Blvd., just opposite the Coliseum. From there it’s about a 6-minute walk.
Other train stations close to the Coliseum are Mineola and Westbury (on the train to Port Jefferson). Trains to these stations are more frequent, but it is recommended to take a taxi to the Coliseum.
Another option from Penn Station is taking the train to Freeport, NY (on the train to Babylon). These trains run about every 30 minutes. From Freeport station, you can walk 2 minutes to N Main St. and Broadway and take the N43 for about 25 minutes, until Earle Ovington at the Coliseum Parking L, which is a 4-minute walk to the Coliseum.
Fares from Penn Station in NYC to any of the above mentioned stations are less than $10 on the off peak trains. Long Island bus rides are $2.75 and they take the MTA MetroCard.
If you choose to take a taxi from West Hempstead or Mineola train stations, the fee will be around $20.
If you’re coming from JFK airport on public transportation, you can connect to any of these trains in Jamaica station directly from the airport airtrain. A taxi or Uber from JFK can cost between $50 to $80 depending on traffic conditions.
If you’re arriving to LGA airport, you will need a bus (Q70) to Woodside to connect with the Long Island Rail Road, and take the train to West Hempstead or Mineola. A taxi or Uber from LGA can cost between $55 to $80 depending on traffic conditions.
There Are Two Ways to Get Your Tickets
1. Tickets are sold publicly online through Ticketmaster. Here is the direct link to get your tickets and choose your seats: Peace Starts With Me on Ticketmaster. Please note that there is an additional service fee that is applied by Ticketmaster for each ticket you buy.
Ticketmaster will sell up to 8 tickets online in one transaction. Sales are particular to a seat choice on the site prior to the final sale.
2. It is also possible to buy from the Nassau Coliseum Box Office, either in person or by phone (516-231-4848 then press 1 to buy tickets by phone). There are no additional Ticketmaster service fees when purchasing from the box office.
At the Box Office, it is also possible to buy tickets in bulk, but only by the pastors*. The box Office has a list of Pastors’ names who are authorized to buy tickets in large quantities, so you’ll need to coordinate with your pastor if you wish to buy in bulk or avoid the Ticketmaster service fees.
*Pastors may call or visit the box office at the Nassau Coliseum and purchase a larger amount of tickets, securing seating for a group in a particular section.
No Ticket? No Entry
Please make sure you have your ticket either a print of the online ticket, or the one you received from your pastor. Everyone needs a ticket to get in the Coliseum. As of the time of writing this advisory, tickets are already going fast, so please don’t delay and think you can get in later.
Ticket Pricing
Yes, the tickets cost some money, but this is still cheaper than a basketball game. We are entering into a new era where our events will be sold out and people will be happy to pay, so this is a small step towards that. We have established ticket prices from $35 to $250, even though each seat is worth $1000.
Here are the price points based on the seating chart on Ticketmaster and below:
Green – 200s sections: $35 (Ticketmaster – 33.50+ service fees)
Orange Bowl – 100s sections and floor $45 (Ticketmaster – 43.50+ service fees)
Purple – Floor (back of the 1st half) $100 (Ticketmaster – 98.50+service fees)
Blue – Floor (front): $250 (Ticketmaster – 248.50+service fees)
There is also a $6 processing fee applied to each purchase
If you buy in bulk with a 501C3 you do not pay any sales tax.
Let Us Know You’re Coming
This is extremely Important. Ticketmaster will not give us any personal information, so we won’t really know who is coming or where you are coming from if you buy online. Therefore we’ve set up a way for you to let us know you are coming. Please do this, regardless of how you buy, make sure you report it.
As soon as you buy your tickets, please let us know by filling out this simple form.
Want to join the choir?
More information about the event and suggested accommodations will be coming soon.

Dear Team,
Hello. I tried calling by phone to purchase my tickets, as the service fees for through the Ticketmaster link are more than $10. (making my $33 ticket $50).
I called outside of business hours and had to say the name of the event for the automatic operator to know what I wanted to buy the ticket for.
I said “True Mother,” “Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon,” and “Peace Starts With Me,” several times, but the phone could not find any performance or event by that name.
Of course, I will call soon during normal business hours to find out more information. In the meantime, can someone please fix this?
Thank you.

Hello. Thank you for your inquiry. When you call ticketmaster and the automated system asks for the name of the event, try “Yolanda Adams” or “Hezekiah Walker”. Saying “Peace Starts With Me” will work only on certain days. We are attempting to correct that. In the meantime, please try the performer’s names. Thank you
