Dr. Ki Hoon Kim – January Monthly Meeting

Below is the full transcript of Dr. Ki Hoon Kim’s message at the National Ministry Team’s first monthly meeting of 2018. 

Thank you. I advised Manoj [Jacob, pastor of the Clifton, New Jersey, community], “Don’t go skiing. You’re not an experienced skier. I don’t want you to break your legs. I don’t want to carry you back to New York.” But he went out. I don’t know if he went skiing or just took pictures. Many other leaders have that kind of commitment: “Let us be a different person in this new year of 2018 from what we were last year in 2017.”

This slide shows the new structure for the American movement that True Mother made last year. On the way to East Garden from John F. Kennedy Airport in the middle of December, True Mother said, “America did a good job in the last three years, but I’m not satisfied. We need a new structure, and a new commitment with new leadership.”

Before she left for Korea, she gave us a very clear vision for this country: the Family Federation for a Heavenly United States. We’re going to have this new name with a new commitment and determination centering on True Mother.

This time and every time, what I learned from True Mother is the importance of care, love, and commitment. Everybody felt the same way: “I feel at home,” “I received God’s love through True Mother’s care and love.” Everybody noticed how wonderful and miraculous God’s love is expressed through True Mother’s love and care. It’s unconditional. Every second and every moment, we felt God’s love and True Parents’ love.

If we as the leaders follow True Mother’s example, people will want to come to us. True Father said that the best way of witnessing is to have a meal together and give love; then people naturally will come to us. People naturally will come to us if we practice God-centered, True Parents-centered love. Please, whenever you call or email me, let me know if I’m not exhibiting love like True Mother. I really want to be in the position of giving God’s love, True Mother’s love, and True Parents’ love.

When all of us practice Tribal Messiahship … 120, that’s a small number. If we are confident in what we believe in—True Parents and Heavenly Parent—we will see miracles throughout 2018. Japanese workshops have been held five times at the International Peace Education Center (IPEC) in Las Vegas, with 120 participants every time; that is how people are responding. CARP in Los Angeles had a rally with 1,200 people, and they’re aiming for 3,000, and then a 10,000-student rally. They have a plan for that: not only internal, but an external fundraising plan as well.

These are our activities throughout 2017 and 2018. This is exactly 10 minutes of what I presented to True Parents and global leaders, so I’d like to show this to you department leaders and community leaders from the East Coast of the US.

Family Federation for a Heavenly United States. What was the key point in 2017? Yes, miracle makers. When we unite with True Parents, we will see miracles. At the Christmas celebration, True Mother told us that we can save the United States only when we unite with True Parents, only when, based on the teachings of True Parents, we bless this country and our neighbors. She restructured the 50 states into sub-regions.

These are our leaders; everybody knows their names. True Mother after breakfast invited the sub-regional leaders, “Let us have some coffee together on the second floor.” True Mother again told them: “You are not the same person as before when I appointed you as a sub-regional leader. You are a new person, a new leader, who can exemplify the love of God and love of True Parents.”

True Mother told the leaders: “I really want you to become that kind of committed leader, so change your internal and external appearance as well. When people talk to you and look at you, they should feel the blessings from True Mother and True Parents.”

America is changing. This is our commitment. Even if it’s not changing, we must change America because we are mainstream before God, before True Parents, before the American people, and before the United States. How? There are many ways to do Tribal Messiah activities. True Mother is preparing a nice building, which we call Cheong Bo Won, next to Cheongpyeong, a great ballroom, and True Mother will collect the names and family histories of all Blessed Central Families who have fulfilled, who have dedicated, who have sacrificed for the sake of True Parents, for the nation and the world. True Mother has prepared not only True Parents’ Cheon Ji Sunhak Won museum but also the Blessed Central Families history museum inside our Cheongpyeong complex. This is the history of True Parents, this is history of the Blessed Central Families.

We fulfilled 12 couples, and in 2018, our goal is 120. I have heard that at this time more than 50 billion good ancestors in the spirit world are waiting for us. Over 50 of our good ancestors are waiting for us; we have incredible spiritual power. This is what 120 families are trying to build up in Tribal Messiah activities. This is our lifeline. Don’t think, “We can do it later.” No. Start now, if you haven’t started already.

As Teresa [Rischl, the president of CARP America] mentioned, two years ago the Los Angeles chapter of CARP invited 40 CARP members to Japan and Korea. Last year they tripled that amount and invited 120 members. When True Mother heard about this, she said, “I’d like to invite them to my house for a nice banquet.” This year, Los Angeles CARP wants to bring 360 young people to Japan and Korea. Whenever they ask for help, please send help, okay? Donations. Let’s give them a big hand.

This is breaking news: More than 1,200 young people gathered in a mega-church in Los Angeles and testified about True Mother’s event at Madison Square Garden in July and her speech in Korea in November. They are not only students, but this is the main pastor. He came to Korea last time, and it was just two days, but he spoke about the ACLC pastors and international guests to more than 400 people. We’re going to use this church again for a 3,000-student rally.

There are seven CARP chapters in Los Angeles. When they came together in unity, right after that they had a seven-day workshop. We haven’t had a seven-day national workshop with more than 30 new guests in the last 30 years of our US history. This is breaking news. Los Angeles CARP are not the only ones that can do this; Mrs. Hiraki is not the only one who can do this. When we are committed, centering on True Mother’s guidance, everybody can do it.

Concerning ACLC [American Clergy Leadership Conference], we want to build up chapters in each of the 50 states. ACLC has more than 100 pastors throughout the 50 states, so we can come together, work together with a more synergistic effort. Pastor Mark Abernathy from Atlanta is serious about giving the Marriage Blessing; he’s educating his couples step by step on the different stages of the Blessing.

As True Mother has told us, we must share our blessing with others. We can’t keep the blessing only for ourselves: “I am a blessed central family,” “I am an Abel figure.”

When we serve, when we care for others, when we love, then people will respond. If we don’t exemplify this spirit, we can’t be a Blessed Central Family. God and True Parents exist for the sake of all humankind, not just Unificationists. True Parents are the Second Coming of the Messiah for all of humankind. We want to build up strong ACLC chapters throughout the 50 states, with our family churches and ACLC chapters supporting each other.

America must stand in a leadership position not only for America’s sake but for our movement’s activities around the world, centering on True Mother. This morning I spoke with Rev. David Rendel in Chicago. On Saturday, January 27, Chicago will be hosting the True Family Values Awards Banquet. This is a launching ceremony for the Interreligious Association for Peace and Development (IAPD). We did this last year centering on True Mother. Let us lead this movement, and then let the people follow this pattern.

GPA [Generation Peace Academy]. People are surprised: Not only have we not received money from Japan for the last four years, but our church-owned businesses are showing a profit. That is a miracle. The Manhattan Center made history last year, they haven’t had this kind of result in the last 30 years. It was their best year ever in 2017.

When we come together with commitment, we can stand to support True Mother. We no longer will ask True Mother for help. The young people of GPA are creating miracles daily. For the first time since 1975, young people have been sent out from the United States to other countries for long-term missionary work. This year GPA participants and alumni will work in either the Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, or Costa Rica.

You will see a donation box on the Family Federation website, so please, if you haven’t given already, give and support the Cheon Il Guk missionaries. They’ve been fundraising, and they’re preparing for a workshop. They also took part in an actionizing program for three weeks in Las Vegas and Los Angeles, and they’re now ready to depart for these three nations.

I’ll wrap up. First, unite with True Parents; create a witnessing environment, and all our organizations will come together to support witnessing and Tribal Messiahship activities.

We’re preparing many ways to raise the next generation of leaders; also, responsible stewardship and giving for the sake of the worldwide providence. We will make another historic moment in 2018, and we will bring more miracles than we did in 2017. How? When we come together, understand True Mother, understand Heavenly Parent, this is our power. Without power, we cannot move forward, so we need to have giving and receiving relationships to make power.

Who’s our subject? True Mother, and we are one and we can create incredible power for the sake of this country, for the sake of our Blessed Central Families throughout the nation, and throughout the world. Thank you, and God bless you throughout 2018.
