Camp T2 2016

T2 is a camp where everyone can be one with God’s creation. The camp provides an atmosphere that can’t be emulated anywhere else, allowing all of the participants and staff to openly talk and relate to one another.
Last year, I went to T2 where it was sunny everyday. We didn’t have to worry about our clothes or shoes getting drenched. This year, I was looking forward to hiking in the forest again and the blazing sun giving us warmth throughout the day. Little did I know that T2 would be a completely new experience the second time around. It rained almost everyday, mud was everywhere, and I was cold 24/7.
Even with the miserable weather, however, it didn’t really affect any one of us. We lifted each other up with our inside jokes and laughs that could be heard from miles away. None of us argued and we offered to clean dishes or filter water even when we weren’t asked to. We played intense card games and came up with the catchiest tunes (our group killed it).
These distractions and the beautiful nature of both the rainforest and the people allowed us to connect with one another and gain a whole new understanding of what it means to have each other when we need it most. Personally, it made me realize that the relationships I built and strengthened are ones that can only be established through these camps. I loved how everyone could be so non-judgmental and accepting of all of our differences and similarities.
If anyone has the chance or was thinking of going to T2, whether to be a staff member or a camper, I strongly suggest that you go! It’s full of so much fun and, as cliché as it sounds, it’ll give you a unique experience of a lifetime. Thank you to all of the campers who took a week out of their summer break to go on this wild adventure, and huge thanks to the Wolfenbergers for giving us a hiking expedition that we can look forward to every summer! I hope that we can all meet again next summer!
