WFWP USA Contributes to Athena International Awards in Las Vegas

Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP USA) has a lot to be grateful for this year. With the opening of five new chapters in New Jersey, successful Schools of Africa events that raised over $5,000, and an appearance at the 11th Athena International Awards, the organization is counting its blessings this Christmas.
With True Mother’s recent visit and continued investment in Las Vegas, the Athena Awards, sponsored by the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada (WCCNV) was one of the highlights of the year. WCCNV is a premier women’s organization in the state, and their annual awards ceremony gives recognition to organizations and individuals in categories that include, Young Professional Leader, Organizational Leadership, Minority Lifetime Achievement, and Women in Entertainment and Media Awards. The WFWP Las Vegas Chapter has been a WCCNV member since 2012, and this year, the president of WCCNJ, June Beland asked WFWP Las Vegas to lead the grand finale with a Bridge of Peace Ceremony. All of the award recipients and finalists crossed the bridge.
Monica Lenoir, a new WFWP member in Las Vegas, presented the ceremony and spoke about how she was so moved the first time she saw the ceremony that it inspired her to join WFWP. “We’re just trying to get more women involved, and to see the vision that we have of global peace everywhere” she said.
As the year comes to an end, there is certainly much to celebrate for WFWP USA, and many more exciting things to look forward to in the year to come.
