Aloha Reunion in Las Vegas
True Mother invited the young Unificationists who participated in the Aloha Workshop in Hawaii earlier this year to come to the Christmas celebration in Las Vegas. Eleven participants, ages 15 to 17, attended the Christmas celebration and it was a great opportunity for them to reconnect with True Mother halfway through the year. All traveled from far reaching parts of the country, and spent time touring the beautiful natural sites around Las Vegas, including the Hoover Dam and Red Rock Canyon.
They took the opportunity to visit the International Peace Education Center and some of the famous sites along the Las Vegas Strip, but the highlight of their weekend was the opportunity to sing Sarang Hae for True Mother during the celebratory luncheon. They practiced for many hours over the weekend and even before they arrived.
“We all finally arrived by Saturday night, and we started preparing for our song,” described Daniel Angelino. “At first it wasn’t so good because we never sing together that much, but we started getting it, and then we practiced for a couple of hours. The next day before performing, we practiced again and it just sounded so good. It just clicked. That was just a really, really awesome moment, and I’m really grateful for this experience. “
On their own accord, they decided to complete a week long prayer and Hoon Dok Hwe reading condition before the event to prepare their hearts and minds for meeting with True Mother.
“I feel like that was an emotional time for the most of us because we wanted to express our love to True Mother,” said Matogba Nelson. “We were just happy that True Mother really wanted to take care of us, and also the sermon that she gave was really great.”
True Mother continues to invest in the youth in this important time of their lives. Events such as the Aloha Workshop are just the beginning of a life-long journey of love, friendship and taking part in a vision for world peace.
