Faville George B. Russell was born in Mountpelier, Hanover, Jamaica, West Indies in 1953. In 1973, after graduating from Cornwall College in Jamaica, he joined Cunard Trafalgar International, a British Company, specializing in the Hotel Industry, land investment and Cruise Liners. In 1974, he received a scholarship from Cunard to complete his Hotel Management education and training in London, England. George then joined Cunard Trafalgar in London.

 

In 1975, while with Cunard, George had a vision of Jesus who guided him to commit himself to the mission of building God’s Kingdom. In the vision, Jesus led him to True Father Moon and ‘placed him in his arms’. Later, George discovered that True Father was indeed the Second Coming Messiah. He joined the Unification Church immediately (1975) and has never regretted a moment since. George feels very passionate about advocating for world peace and the Kingdom of God, Cheon Il Gul, and has lived an exciting life working for Heavenly Parent and True Parents. 

 

George has done missionary/peace work in England; Germany (CARP member in Frankfurt); France; Italy; Japan; Korea; Brazil; Israel; his native country, Jamaica; and also in 15 states in the U.S. He carried out his 40-Day Pioneering Mission in Maldon, Essex, England, and served as a Center Leader in Wanstead and Barking (London, England) and in Richmond, VA.  George worked in Ilhwa American Corporation in New York and later, on the USA International One World Crusade. He became an Assistant State Leader to Kazuyoshi Ikeno in Minnesota and Wisconsin. 

 

After graduating from Unification Theological Seminary (UTS) in 1991, George was appointed as the Campus Ministry pastor and CARP leader of Virginia. Centering on Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, VA,  he launched two major World Scripture Conferences that gained True Father’s recognition and his direction to use the VCU model for local programs around the country. George has also served as a Church Workshop lecturer, local CAUSA Lecturer, and Coordinator for International Conferences for Clergy (ICC) in Minneapolis, MN and Milwaukee, WI; and ACLC Richmond. He has fulfilled the 40 Day Jardim “Ideal Family Education” Workshop in Brazil and Cheong Pyeong 40 Day Workshop.

 

George has directed Universal Peace Federation (UPF)-Richmond since 2008, and is currently the UPF-VA Director.

 

George is the father of four children, has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the State of New York, and a Master of Divinity from UTS in New York. With his beloved and supportive wife, Chiyomi Iwasa, they were able to register as a CheonBo couple having completed the Heavenly Tribal Messiah Mission: blessing 430 generations of ancestors and 430 Couples. They are happy to attend True Mother in hopes of accomplishing the great vision of the Heavenly Unified World under Heavenly Parent by 2027 through a victorious contribution from the state of Virginia.
