After reading the entire speech, I was so impressed by True Father’s heart and logic. Unity truly is the key. God created us for joy–for Himself but also for us. That could not happen, though, unless we learned to love truly centered on God and fulfill the Three Great Blessings as God wanted us to do–in the correct order. We needed to learn to live first for God, then for each other, as well as for ourselves–our greater good. We needed to develop patience and complete all the steps of growth, trusting in God, throughout our growth. Since that did not occur, so much suffering as occurred for everyone. And God has been working hard to divide the selfishness within us. Since we are made in His image, we’re also creators–including of our spiritual maturity. So we need to follow God’s process. When we do, the Providence progresses. When we do not, the progress stops, and we need to “clean up the mess.” Thank goodness for Heavenly Parent’s patience with us and with the patience and efforts of Jesus and True Parents! And thank goodness for those who are persevering along this course.

Father said this in 1980, 40 years ago. I feel like we didn’t do enough. We have a lot of catching up to do.
