The New Jersey Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) community celebrated its 10th Annual Golden Age Club dinner on the evening of December 8 in the fellowship hall of the Clifton Family Church. The senior community welcomed nine new members during their much-anticipated and packed event.
The program opened with Senior Advisor to the Clifton Family Church community Manoj Jacob giving a heartfelt prayer, and recently appointed District 3 and Clifton Family Church Pastor Crescentia DeGoede greeting her elders with love and appreciation. Tony Ferrentello, a member of the Golden Age Club, led a communal toast for the Golden Age Dinner. “We’re all here because of God’s grace and True Parents’ blessings and not so much because of what we’ve done,” said Mr. Ferrentello. “Yes, we’ve done a lot of things, but that doesn’t come close to God’s Grace.”
Guests were treated to a delicious meal of bulgogi, chicken, and salmon prepared by volunteers, as Kerry and Carol Pobanz took the stage to share their story about meeting the Unification movement and each other. “Many people think that because we are both American, rather than from different nations, it was somehow easier to make our marriage work. But I assure you that my husband and I were matched from two different planets!” Mrs. Pobanz declared. They continued to share the many odd and humorous events in their lives, concluding with Mr. Pobanz giving his sincere and optimistic remarks regarding God’s hope for the next decade.
The Elizabeth Family Church children’s choir from Elizabeth, New Jersey danced and sang, touching the hearts of the seniors, which was followed by the Golden Age Dancers, bringing delight to all who attended. Intermittently during the evening’s festivities, gift items including ginseng tea, crystals, gift cards from Sakura Bana, Coach bags and flower centerpieces were raffled off and lovingly handed out to the winners. The evening of laughter, joy, community, and reminiscence concluded with a prayer followed by three resounding cheers of Eog Mansei.

Kerry / Carol,
We two, as an American couple, know very well of what you when you say you are both from two different planets although from the same country – in other words, the Blessing is always a challenge.
