On Friday, November 22, the Latino Ministry of Family Church of New York City (FCNYC) held a prayer dinner and Ambassadors for Peace event, sponsored by Universal Peace Federation (UPF) USA and Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) USA. The event, attended by more than 120 guests, revitalized the Latin American community in Manhattan, igniting enthusiasm for the upcoming Peace Starts With Me rally in Newark, New Jersey on December 28.
In less than a week, around 30 volunteers from the Latino Ministry of FCNYC worked together to plan, invite guests and execute the event. Among the 120 participants in attendance were Regional Chairman of Family Federation North America Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, FFWPU-USA President and FCNYC Co-pastor Rev. Demian Dunkley, UPF-USA Chairman Dr. Michael Jenkins, and ACLC Co-chairman and FCNYC Co-pastor Dr. Luonne Rouse.
The evening featured the recognition of new Ambassadors of Peace, a UPF initiative, and presentations of traditional dances from Peru and Bolivia. Participants left with the determination to bring 3,000 Latino guests from New York City to the December 28 rally in support of the Mother of Peace, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon.
