Uniting Clergy Around the World

The National Ministry Team of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) USA gathered at The New Yorker hotel on November 6 for their monthly meeting to discuss the launch of the Korean Clergy Leadership Conference (KCLC) and ongoing outreach efforts for the December 28 clergy rally featuring the Mother of Peace, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, co-founder of FFWPU.

Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, regional chairman of Family Federation North America, spoke about Dr. Moon’s commitment to realizing God’s dream throughout the world and her current global campaign for peace. She most recently spoke at the KCLC launch, an event that Dr. Kim described as “a turning point in God’s providence of restoration.” Dr. Moon will return to America for the December 28 rally at the Prudential Center, now titled the “Rally of Clergy to Support a Heavenly Unified World.”

“We have a commitment to bring victory on December 28,” said Dr. Kim. “As American family members and leaders, let us bring the ‘all in’ spirit.”

Rev. Demian Dunkley, president of FFWPU USA, began by thanking pastors and district leaders for their outreach efforts. He then read a letter he wrote, commending Dr. Moon for her efforts. “If national restoration were to occur, or if world peace were to come about, surely it would begin with the vastness of vision and depth of determination that our True Mother has displayed,” read Rev. Dunkley. “How can we be satisfied with anything less than total determination on our part?” True Mother and True Parents are affectionate terms used by Unificationists when referring to Dr. Moon and her late husband Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon. 

Dr. Luonne Rouse, co-chairman of the American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC), detailed the events and incredible efforts surrounding the KCLC launch, occurring from October 30 to November 4 in Korea. After numerous church visits and outreach work, 400 Christian clergy joined KCLC on its official launch. 

“The vision that True Mother has is stimulating us to be ready, not just for KCLC and ACLC, but for December and the launch of the World Clergy Leadership Conference (WCLC),” said Dr. Rouse. “Our love for True Parents grew because of True Mother. Her deliverance to us, not just her generosity and hospitality, but her message, reached deep into our hearts and minds again. We experienced God through her.”

Archbishop George Augustus Stallings, Jr., chairman of the International Association for Peace and Development (IAPD), elaborated on the positive outcome of the KCLC launch. “This is a providential moment for us,” said Archbishop Stallings. “All of the blood, sweat, and tears for True Parents, not only in America, but all around the world, are being manifested in the Korean clergy and with the reunification of North and South Korea. If you understand providential history and the role that True Mother is playing in totally submitting to the Will of God, you can see that she is able to touch people in a magnificent way.”

Dr. Michael Jenkins, chairman of the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) USA, spoke about the November 16 “Bridging the American Divide” Thanksgiving Luncheon in Washington, D.C. The monumental event will be attended by Dr. Sun Jin Moon, senior vice-president of Women’s Federation for World Peace International, Bishop Noel Jones of the City of Refuge church, and over 500 clergy. Dr. Jenkins also discussed outreach efforts leading up to the December 28 rally, including meetings with influential political leaders.

Angelika Selle, president of the Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) USA, spoke about the Global Women’s Peace Network (GWPN) launch in the Midwest and the upcoming Southeast launch, which will be the fifth and final regional GWPN launching in the USA.

Kaeleigh Moffitt, national director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry (YAYAM), discussed preparing for the upcoming inauguration of the Young Clergy Leadership Conference (YCLC) on December 27. “Seeing what is happening with our efforts to reach out to Christianity is really transforming me and giving me so much hope,” said Mrs. Moffitt. “I really want to put my whole heart into this, and believe and support young people in working towards these exciting things that are happening.” Finally, the New Jersey and New York outreach team gave updates on their efforts to assemble 30,000 clergy for December 28.
