Northeast Subregion
In the Northeast, there was a two-week high school Divine Principle workshop called EPIC. The participants where put in a position to teach divine principle to their peers with napkin lectures, going through the entire DP. They learned how to give 7 minute lectures on every topic. They ended it all off with understanding other religions. Spending the last week studying and learning about other religions and how the principle exists in them. The 30+ participants could really embody our principles in culture and left the workshop with a new understanding on our teachings and the multiple faiths around the world.
Southeast Subregion
From July 12 to 14, about 50 young Unificationists from 8 states gathered at the Georgia Family Community Center in Atlanta for the Southeast Awaken Experience, a first-of-its-kind event in District 5 designed to provide a welcoming space for high schoolers and young adults to experience God and form bonds with others in their region. It was also the first collaborative project between three young adult pastor couples and the SR2 staff.
Midwest Subregion
The Midwest held our second subregion-wide Camp KOGAPE June 30th – July 6th with over 80 youth participants from Ohio to South Dakota. The theme “Own it” aimed to empower our kids to understand the value of and take the first steps to reaching their greatest potential by their own choice. A key impactful activity to help deepen their volition was through overcoming a physically challenging obstacle. Many said during Testimony Night that they are already looking forward to next year’s camp!
Southwest Subregion
On the 4th of July, the young adults organized a Las Vegas community potluck BBQ. The community invited guests and friends for some delicious food, water games and live music to celebrate the birth of America as an independent nation
