Latino Ministry Hosts Blessing and Family Festival
The Latino Ministry Family Church of New York City (FCNYC) held a successful Blessing and Family Festival in Manhattan on Sunday, June 2. The festival included a Blessing Ceremony for 12 new couples, a True Family Values education program, testimonies, musical and dance performances, and a delicious meal.
“The Family Festival was a success because it has allowed us to share the Blessing with our guests in a loving environment with the desire to soon meet together again with the same good humor,” says Monica Vallejo, leader of Latino Ministry FCNYC. “Latino Ministry strives to express our art and faith with the love that unites us in the same family under God.”
The Blessing Ceremony was officiated by District Pastors Rev. Edner Pierre-Louis and Rev. Juanita Pierre-Louis, and supported by the youth ministry and their Pastor Stephanie Dias. The True Family Values education program was delivered by José Rafael Sánchez, with Marina Falconi as a translator for English speaking guests. Touching testimonies were given by Fernando and Doris De Sousa, a couple from NJ, and also from Elizabeth Huallpa, a recently appointed Ambassador of Peace.
Musical performances, including one by professional singer Melanina Maldonado, filled the room with joy. There were also magnificent dance performances by Saire Dance Academy and the Andean Mosaicos Dance troupe of Peru. The event ended with a delightful Latin dinner.
The Latino Ministry FCNYC wants to express their sincere gratitude to all the brothers, sisters and families who collaborated with them in heart and spirit. They hope to inspire other local communities and families to host their own Blessing events.

I enjoyed the program thoroughly. The professional singer will be a good choice for any other of our events. I used to be a piano accompanist and voice coach, and I noticed her terrific control and use of so many techniques to convey her interpretation of her song.
