LA Family Church Joins the Presidential Prayer Tour
Inspired by the America is God’s Hope Presidential Prayer Tour initiated by Rev. Demian Dunkley, President of Family Federation for a Heavenly USA, the Los Angeles Family Church held a miniature West Coast Tour on April 22. Twelve Participants visited the resting places of two former presidents buried in Southern California, Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan.
Serendipitously, April 22 marked the 25th anniversary of Nixon’s passing, so the LA Family Church team attended a commemoration held at the The Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum in Yorba Linda. Veterans, citizens and young cadets of Junior Marine all gathered to honor the former president. Testimonies detailed Nixon’s dedicated work as president during a arduous era, and illustrated his love for his wife and children. California Governor Pete Wilson and his wife Gayle also took part in the event, laying an ornate wreath over Nixon’s grave. Proceeding the ceremony, District 12 Pastor Rev. Young Tack Yang led the LA team in a prayer for Nixon in front of his burial site, where the beautiful wreath was set for the day.
The LA team then drove two hours to the resting place of Ronald Reagan at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley. Led once again by Rev. Yang, the group held hands and offered a prayer for Reagan and all other Presidents in the spirit world to “rise for True Parents.”
“We decided to do this tour to unite in heart and in action to mobilize the spirit world to work with us to restore America to know True Parents,” said one participant.
