Here are some YAYAM highlights from December:
In the Northeast Subregion, the Korean Evangelical Association (KEA) in New York held a Christmas party to celebrate the holidays. They also attended the Youth and Students for Peace Designer Seminar in New Jersey.
This year in the Southeast Subregion, the Delaware-Maryland-Virginia (DMV) community opened up their annual winter workshop to the entire subregion, centering on the theme of “Our Fight, My Promise.” This theme focused on understanding the bigger picture of the Unification Movement and each person’s role in it.
In the Midwest Subregion, Chicago’s Youth Ministry took their middle school and high school students, as well as a few young adults to go ice skating. The kids had a great time gliding across the ice rink. Afterward, they played Krumpus (Grog), their favorite game.
To celebrate True Children’s Day, many families from the Colorado Family Church in the Southwest Subregion gathered at a nearby recreation center for an afternoon of fellowship and fun. It was our largest attendance ever, and children and parents alike enjoyed swimming, basketball, and a pizza dinner.
In the Western Subregion, the theme for California’s High School winter workshop was “Thrive.” The workshop emphasized the importance of one’s life of faith. Participants came from all over, including Alaksa, Chicago, Arizona, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
