It’s the First Day of Winter
Today, December 21, marks the Winter Solstice, also known as the first day of winter and the shortest day of the year.
As we enter the winter season, let’s take this time to grow and connect with nature and God’s miracles.
Winter shouldn’t be a time of dormancy. We shouldn’t hide inside our homes and avoid contact with the brisk winter air. Instead, layer up and step into the beautiful new day God has granted and maybe go for a short walk to the park.
For those of you who don’t want to venture outside, take the time to grow internally. Every morning when you wake up, try to do five minutes of meditation. Count your breathing and really focus on yourself. To make things interesting, try adding an extra five minutes to your meditation sessions every week.
Don’t think of the cold winter as a time to sulk and wish for the warm weather to return. Winter is the time of the year when families and friends gather together to celebrate and appreciate each other. Remember, it’s the most wonderful time of the year!
Happy winter!
