Let Us Strive to Continue Our Efforts
On July 7, Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, continental director of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU), attended the Cheon Il Guk Supreme Council meeting inCheongpyeong, Korea where he met with True Mother. The following is a recount of this meeting and FFWPU’s activities in America.
After a stimulating and productive discussion of the questions that arose about the Cheon Il Guk Constitution, Dr. Kim met with True Mother and reported about FFWPU USA activities, efforts in witnessing and testimonies from Unificationists who participated in the God’s Hope for America pilgrimage, specifically from Florida, Texas and New Mexico. He also reported about the cycling rally for the unification of North and South Korea. True Mother was very happy to hear about these great efforts and signed “Victory America, Han Hak Ja, July 7th 2014” on the God’s Hope for America tour map posters. Dr. Kim shared with True Mother the main goal of the pilgrimage: to inherit True Parents’ providence and heart for the sake of this country, and recommitting to this vision, centering on True Mother, for the sake of America. Many people are very impressed and inspired to learn of what FFWPU is doing in America.
True Mother was encouraged that many Americans are donating to the construction of the International Peace Education Center (IPEC) in Las Vegas. Dr. Kim encourages everyone who wishes to contribute to this project to do so before True Father’s Seonghwa anniversary on August 12. True Mother confirmed that the IPEC will be completed as per the original design, after she learned that any changes would prolong the project for over a year. Unhappy but not disheartened, she said, “At the beginning, we should have done it the right way. We went through a long time of different directions and learned the lesson the hard way.”
In response to the projects Dr. Kim conveyed, True Mother suggested many ideas and directions. For example, upon hearing of Kodan sisters’ testimonies about their street and campus outreach experiences, True Mother was very happy to hear it and described similar endeavors in Korea; in Chonan city near Sun Moon University, Japanese sisters engaged in street witnessing and received great response. True Mother encouraged American Unificationists and Kodan members to witness not only one day or one weekend, but continuously. A possible way to do this is to put up book tables on campuses, such as is being done in Los Angeles, San Francisco and other areas. Outreach efforts were the most inspiring to True Mother of all she heard that day. She also encouraged each state and local area to continue such events that are happening during the Holy Ground pilgrimage.
True Mother was also very inspired about testimonies from women pastors. She asked that we educate pastors so that they clearly know True Parents and our faith. Also, by uniting with True Parents we can understand and become one with their ideal and value. With a direct connection to our Heavenly Parent, we have the ability to embrace and teach people. This is a great opportunity for America to wake up to God’s true values and hope for this world.
True Mother will be coming to Hawaii for the Aloha Youth Workshop, where approximately 50 youth from 16 countries around the world will attend along with True Mother’s grandchildren.
“Please pray for True Mother and the success of the workshop,” encourages Dr. Kim. “I also want to express my appreciation to every one of you for your great support in many ways.”
