Happy True Children’s Day!
Unificationists all over the country celebrated the 59th True Children’s Day and the 31st Foundation Day of the United Nation of Heaven and Earth on November 8, 2018. Families gathered in their homes and communities to start their day in prayer and celebrate that we are all children of God.
Belvedere Family Church
On Thursday, November 8, the Belvedere Family Church hosted their True Children’s Day celebrations. Regional Chairman of Family Federation North America, Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, gave a brief message followed by the cutting of the cake. Pastors and missionaries are continuing their outreach efforts by visiting churches in preparation for the Peace Starts With Me rally.
Salt Lake City Family Church
The Salt Lake City Family Church celebrated True Children’s Day on Sunday, November 4, with a pledge service and a luncheon followed by Trick or Treating with the children. Everyone chose a “house” in the church building to give out candy, and afterwards everyone played charades and joined in singing their favorite songs.
Las Vegas Family Church
A small group of youth and first-generation Unificationists met on a Thursday morning at the Cheon Hwa Gung parlor to enjoy their traditional True Children’s Day program. The lavish Holy Table and spectacular bouquet of autumn flowers created a heavenly atmosphere in this special room where True Father spoke so many times during the final four years of his life.
The celebration began with the lighting of the Holy Candles, followed by the Cheon Il Guk National Anthem, bowing and prayers.
Clifton Family Church
The brothers and sisters at the Clifton Family Church gathered to celebrate True Children’s Day on the evening of November 8. The District-3 Pastor, Pastor Manoj, invited Dr. Michael Jenkins, the national Co-Chairman of ACLC to speak as their special guest.
In his message, Dr. Jenkins passionately talked about the course that True Parents’ went through; about the amount preparation that God invested in the world in order for them to receive His beloved Begotten Son and Daughter. Without these preparations that the people God worked with at that time, True Parents were able to come to earth and establish the eight Holy Days such as True Children’s Day.
Kings Family Church
On November 4, the Kings Family Church celebrated Children’s Day with a congratulatory song “A Woman’s Place,” sung by Elma King followed by a Hoon Dok Hwe reading. After the service, everyone shared the fruits and snacks from the offering table.
Los Angeles Family Church
On November 11, the Los Angeles Family Church celebrated True Children’s Day with an offering table with seven pillars of fruit. The service started at 10 a.m. with a pledge service where Pastor George Kazakos delivered a message signifying the importance of True Children’s Day. Following the service, Yumi Kim, a young Unificationist, performed a Korean folk dance.
