A Transition in International Women Leadership
On June 3, the Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) welcomed Professor Yeon Ah Moon, international vice president of the Family Federation for World Peace (FFWPU), as the new president of WFWP International and WFWP Korea. On May 17, True Mother had announced this change as she appointed Dr. Lan Young Moon, former WFWP president, as the special emissary for Eastern Europe with FFWPU International. As she has served with great distinction, Dr. Lan Young Moon will remain a close advisor to WFWP as president emeritus of WFWP International. The inauguration ceremony, shown in the video above, occurred on June 3 in Korea. In it, Yeon Ah Moon was welcomed in her new capacity as president and former President Dr. Lan Young Moon’s success and accomplishments during her tenure with WFWP were celebrated.
Mrs. Alexa Ward, Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) USA vice president and deputy director of WFWP’s UN office, remarks of Dr. Lan Young Moon: “With the dignity and graciousness that define her character, she traveled the world many times over, meeting and connecting women leaders to our True Parents. She raised an entire generation of international sister leaders, always representing our efforts before True Parents.”
As Dr. Lan Young Moon retires from her presidency and begins her new role, Yeon Ah Moon now is the third international president of WFWP. She teaches women’s studies at Sun Moon University, and expresses her resolve to lead WFWP in contributing to and supporting the vision for 2020. With confidence, WFWP members welcome her leadership and congratulate both Yeon Ah Moon and Dr. Lan Young Moon in their new missions.
