A Taste of Hyojeong
The Hyojeong Divine Principle True Parents’ Life Course Conference concluded after a successful week of lectures from both Rev. Masayuki Kachi and Rev. Soichiro Nakamura and participants are hyped!
Throughout the seven-day Hyojeong Divine Principle True Parents’ Life Course Conference in Las Vegas, the five subregions were greatly supported by their subregional directors who joined in on team bonding and group discussions. The subregional directors delivered updates on their groups’ growth and understanding of the lecture content.
“I am so grateful to be able to attend this workshop and show my loyalty and my Hyojeong,” said Setsuko Todd from Dallas, TX. She, like so many others, is excited to return home and turn their taste of Hyojeong into a feast!
On the last day of the workshop, Regional Chairman of Family Federation North American Dr. Ki Hoon Kim shared a few encouraging words during Hoon Dok Hwe saying, “It’s important to make eye contact with others because that way people will remember you and you will remember them.” Dr. Kim was so determined to leave a lasting impression on each participant he graciously extended his stay in Las Vegas for a couple extra days. He has been listening and collecting the testimonies to present to True Mother during his next visit.
Reflections
“I never thought I needed to come to a workshop because I wake up every morning at 5:00 a.m. to do Hoon Dok Hwe and read the Divine Principle. I also just sent my daughter to the Hyojeong Collegiate Association for the Research of Principles trip in Japan and Korea, so I didn’t have money to spend on this workshop. However, my friend sent me a check one day and told me to use it for whatever I needed, which was quite the miracle. I am so grateful to be able to attend this workshop and show my loyalty and my Hyojeong.” –Setsuko Todd, Dallas, TX, 65, Subregion 4
“Nowadays, everything is focused on the younger Unificationists because we are the new generation. But we can’t forget about our parents’ hard work and the foundation they have laid down for us. I’ve been able to connect and interact with a lot of the first generation Unificationists through this workshop and learning the value of the Divine Principle through them. As children, we’re selfish. But now I realize that giving to others is more important.” –Nobumasa Izumi, Philadelphia, PA, 19, Subregion 1
“This workshop is a great opportunity to inherit the heart of True Parents in order to give beyond ourselves. We need to create the momentum of giving to others and teach them about the Divine Principle and what blessed central families are about. Through this conference, I feel like everyone here is coming together as one.” –Rev. Dr. Linda Lucero Nishikawa, Gresham, Oregon, 61, Subregion 5
“I was born in New Jersey and moved to Georgia when I was in high school. The church community in Georgia wasn’t as big as New Jersey’s and I found myself becoming more distant with my faith. I started to question what my purpose in life was and why I was here. When I opened the Divine Principle for the first time, my feelings about the church started to neutralize. I was asking my mom questions about things in the Divine Principle that I didn’t fully understand and began to create a better relationship with my parents. Through this, I realized that I needed to build my relationships with my family and friends before it’s too late, and I’m going to start by apologizing to them all.” –Akimori Ino, Brunswick, GA, 19, Subregion 1
