A Heartfelt Goodbye to the Edgerly Home in Boston
On June 24, the Boston Family Church gathered for an honorable Sunday service to celebrate the notorious home of Jim and Kinuyo Edgerly in Lexington, MA.
The Edgerlys have hosted countless meetings, workshops, barbecues, and small-group meetings for over 30 years. “Our small-group met at the Edgerly’s home for six years. We deeply cherish the times we had together,” said Gerry Lux, a first-generation Unificationist. Many church leaders held meetings at their house and stayed in the guest room, as did several of True Parents’ grandchildren who were attending school in Lexington.
Especially during the ten years the Edgerlys were the Boston pastoral couple, everyone was more than welcomed to their gatherings. “They always made it feel like everyone’s home,” said Grace Ross, a second-generation Unificationist. “Meetings at the Edgerly’s always meant enjoying the best snacks, coffee, and gourmet meals!”
The home that once hosted numerous events is now too big for Mr. and Mrs. Edgerly whose children have since grown up and moved out of the house. After reflecting on the day’s service, Mr. Edgerly said, “We were so happy to have such a special gathering during our last weekend in our home. It was truly a celebration for the value this house has had for our Unification community.”
Luckily, the Edgerlys are only moving a few miles away, so the gathering was to only say goodbye to the house and say hello to some new memories.
