Rev. Buessing Visits Belvedere Family Church

On Sunday, June 24, President of Family Federation for a Heavenly USA Rev. Richard Buessing blessed the Belvedere Family Church in Tarrytown, NY, with his profound sermon entitled “Life is an Offering.”

Rev. Buessing began his sermon by presenting a black and white photo of himself as a leadership trainee standing in front of True Father in 1973. He stressed the importance of unconditionally offering your mind to God to be able to have healthy control over your body; much like True Father’s triumphant life after prison because of his spirit of offering.

Rev. Buessing also noted that the movement has been able to survive b ecause of the deep meaning inherent in the Divine Principle. “To understand the Divine Principle deeper, we much teach it and practice it continuously,” said Rev. Buessing. His genuine personality emanated from his sermon, showcasing his true desire to build the Unification movement and bring joy to True Parents.

The sermon was followed by a lively lunch discussion that welcomed a few dozen participants who took this opportunity to ask questions such as, “What kind of efforts should we make to be more inclusive of newcomers?” Northeast Subregional Director Rev. Dunkley’s solution was to engage in Tribal Messiahship activities to help solve many of these questions. The Belvedere Family Church was grateful for the insights Rev. Buessing and his guests shared with them.
