Clifton Family Church Welcomes Back Ye Jin Moon
On June 17, 2018, the Clifton Family Church graciously welcomed back Ye Jin Moon, the eldest child of True Parents, to deliver a Sunday Sermon entitled Gender Balance: Divine Heart Principle to the congregation. Only two months ago the New Jersey Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) Chairwoman, Rev. Denneze Nelson, introduced Ye Jin Moon to the Clifton Church. There, Ye Jin Moon shared her original message with a smaller group and was invited by Clifton Pastor Rev. Manoj Jacob to return and give a sermon to the whole congregation.
On Sunday, about 400 people filled up the church to welcome her. The crowd was so large that it spilled out the doors and into the main foyer. Several children, excited to meet a child of True Parents for the first time, offered her a bow as they departed for Sunday school.
“I am really grateful that she came to the New Jersey Community,” said Sasha Okon, a young Unificationist who recently graduated from Generation Peace Academy (GPA). “I never heard her speak before. She has so much to share and her heart behind her message was so moving…. I really felt her desperation to restore this world back to the ideal that God desires.”
In her sermon, Ye Jin Moon described how our Heavenly Parent worked from the beginning to restore both man and woman after the fall. She addressed the patriarchal culture that exists in the world today and explained why this present moment marks an important providential time.
She held back her tears as she talked about the sacrificial dedication of older Unificationists who laid a foundation by investing into each of us and creating the movement as we know it today. “We should be grateful,” she continued, “that we can at least talk about the proper understanding of gender balance…. We have to start creating the ideal reality—the balanced reality—where we can invite not only Heavenly Father, but Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother equally so we can truly be empowered to move forward.”
Speaking of the sermon, Pastor Manoj said he felt that Ye Jin Moon came as True Mother’s representative and that she truly supports her mother.
After service, several leaders, elder Unificatoinists and church staff joined True Parents’ first child for lunch, including Northeast Subregional Director of Family Federation for a Heavenly USA Demian Dunkley. They were accompanied by students of the Collegiate Association for the Research of Principles (CARP), who were preparing to leave for an upcoming trip to Japan and Korea. There, the CARP students each introduced themselves to Ye Jin and sang HyoShim, a song inspired by one of True Father’s prayers.
The CARP students plan to sing the song again for True Mother when they go to Korea. They each shared their happiness to meet Ye Jin Moon and practice their performance before leaving for Japan. “Our meeting was truly a blessing!” said Keisetsu Nakamura, the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) CARP Vice President. “When I ate lunch with her and sang for her, I felt like I was offering to True Mother. I realized how important it was to be ready to offer at any given moment.”
