Committing to Living for God
From June 1 to June 4, 13 people attended the latest True Love Divine Principle Seminar at the International Peace Education Center (IPEC) in Las Vegas. This time, the midwest was well-represented, with several guests from Minnesota, Nebraska, and Ohio. There was also one person from Colorado and another from Maryland.
Rev. Andy Compton holds his action-packed Divine Principle seminars on a regular basis to help spread the message of True Parents to the world. After studying together to learn a condensed version of the basic tenets of the Unification faith, participants get the chance to explore nature by sailing on the beautiful Lake Mead, beholding the wonder of the Hoover Dam, and venturing to the Grand Canyon. This year, attendees were thrilled to have a very young Unificationist– less than one year’s old– joining in on the fun. The adorable guest helped contribute to a youthful but heartfelt fellowship.
As exciting as the seminars are, what guests really take home is a renowned appreciation for True Parents’ wisdom and a commitment to live a life for God. “This has taught me to truly value my life,” says 19-year-old Mpilo Shin Myung Ngwenga of Colorado. “True Parents have spent sleepless nights and days trying to restore the world and I am no exception. I, too am expected to join forces to restore the world.”
25-year-old Carine Ayuk, who heard Divine Principle for the first time over the weekend, agrees. “Everything is very clear to me now,” she says. “I will pass the message to my family and let them get the opportunity to study Divine Principle.”
Rev. Compton is known for his amusing but sincere lecture style which allows participants to connect to his message in their own way. Elizabeth Patterson connected through the heart. “Andy presents the lectures with deep knowledge and sincere devotion. Every point is so clear and unquestionable. I am truly grateful,” she said.
Bruce Biddle connected to Rev. Compton’s humor. “I greatly appreciate the focus on making the [Divine] Principle part of our everyday life. The humor included helps to open the heart and carry the message along,” he said.
IPEC will continue hosting seminars so that former participants can bring their friends and family to hear True Parents’ message. After this past weekend, Chris Bihary plans to do just that. “I felt a new revival [during the seminar]… . I look forward to bringing many here.”
