The Peace Road is a Straight Shot

This week, True Parents Way blog series begins on the Peace Road and ends up at the UN. “When a road is built,” True Father said, “it changes the course of history. When the International Peace Highway is completed, the world can be physically bound together as one.” From the map we see that after the Peace Road crosses the Yalu River, it has a straight shot to the Bering Strait. The Road connects Korea, Japan and the United States as father, mother and elder son nations. As the map shows, two super-power siblings—China and Russia—are tucked in the middle, linking the world’s most powerful five nations into a cozy family.

This week’s video, “Governance Beyond the Generations” argues that the individual model for government has a limitation: individuals have no life cycle. Thomas Jefferson’s call for a revolution every 19 years bears unintended testimony to this. People long for stability in government, not a revolution every 19 years. The source of this longing—and of its fulfillment—lies deep within blood lineage. But this fulfillment cannot be based upon the lineage of a tribe, race or religion. In True Father’s words. “Only when we are linked to God’s lineage is it possible to create the ideal nation.”  

Our Holy Marriage Blessing podcast, in honor of the Unification Theological Seminary’s 42^nd Commencement, is entitled, “Marriage Is Ministry.” Each husband is born to minister to his wife, and each wife is born to minister to her husband. Ministry starts with being there. It’s called the ministry of presence. No judgment, no second-guessing, no but-on-the-other-hands—just loving, giving, undemanding presence. One realizes the beautiful and yet suffering and waiting-to-blossom infinity within one’s partner. One realizes that one has a lot to learn from the other side of the universe. Rev. Moon said that your spouse is your second Messiah. And he said that before he told us to do anything, he did it himself.
