One Heart at Famicon
On March 15, the Famicon participants fortified their unity under True Parents, especially after having completed learning about True Parents’ life course the previous day.
The sense of togetherness heightened from the beginning of the day, as the participants attended breakout sessions with their subregions to refocus and work toward their goals. “Famicon is the first time the members of each subregion have gotten to know each other,” Miyoung Eaton, a young Unificationist, noted. “These meetings really allow every subregion to develop its own identity and unite in heart for when everyone returns to their communities.”
The connection in heart was evident in the following session, in which each of the five subregional directors presented about their area’s expectations and goals for 2018 and beyond. Multiple subregional directors cited “Unity with True Mother” as the driving force of their subregions, although they had not assisted each other in creating their presentations. Additionally, the subregional directors reinforced the importance of increasing tribal messiahship across the nation, in order to share the Marriage Blessing with the rest of the nation and bring God back to the nation. “If we can work together, we can absolutely change America,” Northeast Subregional Director Demian Dunkley encouraged those in attendance.
Another presentation from the day involved pastors of the American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC), with many participants eager to learn how to share the Marriage Blessing and unite with Christian pastors who are unfamiliar with the Unification movement. Rev. Mark Abernathy, Pastor of the Connecticut Point Church who has blessed over 750 couples in marriage, explained that the Marriage Blessing should be explained as another salvation that Christians should receive, in addition to the salvation they have received through Christianity.
The participants capped off the night with a hyojeong concert, displaying their filial heart toward True Parents not only by dedicating the performances to them, but also by showing their oneness in heart. With Apple Heaven USA’s music reverberating in the main hall of the International Peace Education Center (IPEC), participants of all ages surrounded the stage, dancing and singing along with the band as they held hands with one another.

Thanks for this report about Famicon! It’s inspiring to hear the testimonies as well as getting more details in the text. Even though I wasn’t at this program, I was uplifted through this summary and I hope to attend a Famicon in the future.
