True Mother’s Heart for Africa

On January 21, 2018, Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, Regional Chairman of Family Federation North America, delivered the Sunday Sermon at the New York City Family Church after returning from the World Africa Summit. In his message, he gave a detailed, first-hand account of True Mother’s recent activities, including her visit to the National Ministry Team at USA Headquarters, the opening plenary at the World Africa Summit, and her visit to Goree Island. 

Throughout his message, Dr. Kim emphasized True Mother’s heart behind her activities in Africa and worldwide: it is to connect all the people of the world to God through True Parents. For this reason, Dr. Kim explained, her visit to Senegal gave her so much joy. Africa has historically suffered, but Senegal is the first country to embrace True Parents with open arms, where its people can feel the love of God. As True Mother said in her speech at the World Africa Summit, there will be a new, heavenly Africa–no longer subjected to selfishness and instead, revived through God. 

Dr. Kim prepared a photo gallery for those in attendance that illustrated True Mother’s love throughout the World Africa Summit. Several of the Unificationists teared as they listened to Dr. Kim’s description of True Mother when she stood at the Door of No Return in her visit to Goree Island. 

Dr. Kim also discussed True Mother’s visit to the National Ministry Team at USA Headquarters. Her calm demeanor, her motherly nature, and her willingness to share her Korean background with those who were different proved to Dr. Kim once again why she is called our True Mother.
