Youth and Young Adult Ministry Leadership Retreat
From January 12 to January 14, Youth and Young Adult Ministry (YAYAM) hosted its semi-annual leadership retreat at the International Peace Education Center (IPEC) in Las Vegas.
This weekend retreat fostered deep bonding among members of youth ministry, young adult ministry, and the Collegiate Association for the Research of Principles (CARP). 85 leaders in these ministries from across the nation gathered to share in heart, share best practices, and make plans for the year. The emphasis was to work as a united YAYAM team across different departments, organizations, and ages, to support True Mother’s vision for youth.
Another point of emphasis during the retreat was for parents and youth to work together. A handful of parental figures and advisors attended this workshop and all youth leaders were encouraged to develop a solid relationship with local parental figures to inherit the wisdom and experience of elder Unificationists
Participants were also so grateful to have President of Family Federation International Sun Jin Moon and her husband, In Sup Park, engage in a heart-to-heart session with them. They emphasized going to God’s word to find answers to questions youth tend to have. “We felt lots of love, grace, and investment through the sharing, Q&A, and the Kona coffee, donuts, and eco-friendly water bottles they shared with us,” said Tasnah Moyer, Program Coordinator of YAYAM.
As the new year begins, the young leaders of YAYAM look forward to continue to collaborate and work together.
