Dr. Ki Hoon Kim’s Message at the Washington Family Church, September 24

Good morning, everyone. I’d like for you to join me in a special prayer for Caroline, the daughter of our district pastor, Ernest Patton. We will give a special blessing with a parental heart; with the power of Heavenly Parent and True Parents.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Parent and True Parents of all humankind, all 7.5 billion people around the world,

True Father is spiritually here in Washington, D.C. There are many church members gathered here at worship for the sake of True Parents and Heavenly Parent. Our beautiful daughter from You and True Parents and the Patton family, Caroline, is struggling physically. We really want to pray for her to overcome this struggle and suffering of pain. Father, we know You have the same kind of pain, maybe even more than her; however, we bless her. We pray for her to overcome this physical limitation, and we really want her to be able to stand once again before You and before everyone. This prayer is from everyone here and every one of our members throughout the world.

Father, You have raised her until today. We really want to testify that You will continue to raise her internally and externally. For the sake of our community and for the sake of our nation, and world, and True Parents and Heavenly Parent, Father, we deeply offer our sincere and earnest prayer for her sake this morning. Father, we are so grateful that we are one family under God. We really want to protect her, save her, and we would like to testify to our True Parents’ miracle and Heavenly Parent’s miracle through her. Father, once again, bless her and let her stand strong once again and testify before You and before all of us. Thank You. I bless all these things on behalf of True Parents. I report this in the name of Ki Hoon Kim’s Blessed Central Family, Aju.

Thank you, everyone; please be seated. It was very painful hearing about Caroline’s situation. Please keep praying for her. We can really work together to support Second Generation throughout the nation and the world.

I would like to read one paragraph from True Father’s Madison Square Garden message from September 18, 1974.

I did not come here to repeat what you already know. I have come to reveal something new. I want to share with you a revelation from God. The new hope for mankind is the Messiah. And that “great and terrible day of the Lord” is at hand. If you meet the Messiah, for you that day will be great. But if you fail to meet him, then for you that day will indeed be terrible.

This message is titled “The New Future of Christianity,” and it was given by True Father over 40 years ago. It was a very controversial message. True Father mentioned one of the biggest issues in Christianity: the mission of John the Baptist. True Father said that John failed to testify to Jesus as the only begotten Son. When True Father said that, many people left. “Oh, how come Father Moon came from Korea? And is talking about the 2,000-year history of Christianity and is saying that John the Baptist failed his mission to testify to Jesus as the Only Begotten Son?” Many people made a big noise and left.

True Father was unhappy, yes. However, he continued to speak of God’s new revelation about Christianity, because otherwise he could not wake up this country, wake up Christianity for the sake of a new vision for humankind.

So how can we have God’s ideal—a new future, a new hope for our country and Christianity? We must act, centered on God’s ideal, through the Messiah. True Father proclaimed the failure of Christianity and at the same time proclaimed himself as the Messiah. He told them that they must be united in the new Messiah’s ideals. This was True Father’s main message.

True Father’s spirit has gone on and on since then. He came back to this country many times, emphasizing the mission of America and Christianity. He explained why the United States is God’s chosen nation and why it is a central nation in God’s providence. These two subjects, Christianity and America, have central roles, and they must unite and lead the world, centering on the Messiah. This is God’s revelation. True Father clearly outlined God’s plan for this country and for Christianity. We must remember how much True Parents have sacrificed for the sake of America and Christianity.

If America and Christianity are not attending the Second Coming of the Messiah, how can they be a central country and a central religion? When we think about this country, we must think about how much True Father and True Mother invested in it for the sake of God. True Parents came to this country to save Christianity.

We must understand the mission of True Parents. Otherwise, we can’t call ourselves Blessed Central Families. Please raise your hand if you believe that Heavenly Parent is with us. Please raise your hand if you are sure that True Parents are the Second Coming of the Messiah. Thank you. Please raise your hand if you believe True Mother is the Only Begotten Daughter. Thank you. I don’t need to give the sermon today, because you already understand everything. (Laughter.)

So I will give a short message today. We have lost the very simple, fundamental principle. We know God is there, but we don’t believe God. We know True Parents are the Second Coming of the Messiah, but we don’t believe. Very clearly God sent True Mother as the Only Begotten Daughter, but we don’t believe. We resist it coming into our heart and our life. If this is not clear, then from that moment on we start to struggle.

We have so many family issues in our community. Why? Just one reason. We forgot repeatedly that we are the only Blessed Central Families in this nation. We must activate God’s message, centering on True Parents and centering on our mission to witness to 430 families. What message did True Mother give to the U.S. congressmen? It was very clear. True Mother was straightforward. There was no option; there was no negotiation about Heavenly Parent’s revelation.

We don’t have to fear about God and God’s message. We don’t have to fear telling the truth about True Parents. Everything is clear when you have a clear understanding of God and True Parents. God is the center. Not struggling human beings.

God created us as makers of the Kingdom of Heaven on earth. Our first ancestors, Adam and Eve, were meant to create a happy family. This is God’s ideal of creation: to share joy and happiness. This is what God really is looking for from us.

This is what True Parents have sacrificed and suffered for, for the healing. God gave them a very clear mission: You are My son and daughter. I really want you to come to America. I’ve prepared this country based on the 2,000 years of Christianity, not just on the 240 years since the founding fathers started this country. No. I prepared this country for the last 2,000 years. Please go to America and share My message.

Father and Mother spent over 50 years here in this country. So, understanding their life here in America, we can inherit the spirit of True Parents. And we can practice continuously saving this country, America, to save Christianity. We need to keep looking and keep an open eye and ears to see who is speaking rightly and boldly without hesitation, speaking God’s message very clearly without fear of judgment. Sometimes we can hear the kindness like parental love and parental voice.

More than 40 years ago, True Father said: “I am not here to tell you what you already know. I came here to share God’s new revelation. Believe in True Parents as the Messiah.” This was the message 43 years ago. How does True Mother’s message reflect this? Father said that John the Baptist failed Jesus. True Mother said that Mary failed her mission to find God’s Only Begotten Daughter as a bride for Jesus.

You can see True Mother’s speech at the American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC) banquet at Cheongpyeong. Once again True Mother explained that 2,000 years ago Jesus’ mother, Mary, failed to testify to Jesus. He was not only her son but the Only Begotten Son of God. She failed to find the Only Begotten Daughter because she didn’t believe in Jesus as the Only Begotten Son. This was a misunderstanding by many in Christian history. Jesus invested in Christianity, centering on his mission and his disciples, but 2,000 years ago there was the failure of Mary. This is very serious.

Many people think like this in America today. We have so many serious situations in our community, our social systems, and our political systems. Many people, including many scholars, explain the problems by saying that 30 years ago, this or that happened. But True Father said that as far back as the founding fathers, that first generation and second generation already made a big mistake. If you study deeply about American leaders, already there is a big lack.

We have lost the spirit of Independence Day. Even my own children, when they think of the Fourth of July, they only remember fireworks. Americans today celebrate with fireworks not only on July 4 but also on July 2 and 3—three days of celebrations. Some cities even organize seven days of celebrations.

There are many meanings to Independence Day, but no one really is aware of the true meaning. Forty years after True Father’s speech, we still have no idea. Where is God in the Fourth of July celebrations? God created this country on the foundation of 2,000 years of Christian history and the founding fathers’ background of faith and religious zeal. America equals Christianity. We must awaken Christianity again and bring this country back to God’s side. (Applause.)

This has been True Parents’ goal over the past 50 years. We must understand today, once again, the role of this country and the role of Christianity as the central religion. Whenever I hear True Mother’s message, she always speaks about Christianity and Christian history and what went wrong. She speaks without fear, with many Christian leaders in front of her. She straightforwardly talks to them. True Mother said, “You are pastors. You can talk a lot, but you aren’t listening well. But today, at this moment, you must open your ears and close your mouth.” (Applause.)

This was True Mother’s commitment before the Christian pastors. I was so surprised. Until True Mother stood up to speak, they were talking like elementary school boys and girls. From table to table. I’ve never seen that kind of noisy background around True Parents. It was very noisy. I was seated at their table, and I said to them, “Oh, you are truly, truly preachers.” There was never even one sentence that stopped. It was so noisy! I’ve never been to that kind of banquet centering on True Parents.

We must understand True Mother’s straightforward way of talking to these Christian ministers about correctly understanding Christianity, Heavenly Parent, and True Father and True Mother as the Messiah. This is our main challenge in our community–understanding well about True Parents and their teachings. Only when we do this, can our community move forward toward God’s providence. We are the one and only group in this era before God and before True Parents.

Yesterday when I was walking around in a Korean neighborhood here, I saw a sign in Korean that said, “Messiah Church.” I was thinking: “Why is this church using that name? That’s our church name.” (Laughter.) The next time I’m here, I’d like to stop by that church and tell them, “Oh, you should take down that church sign.” And we must put it here on our church!

Many times over the past five years, when our leaders have had a meeting, I’ve said, “We must change our name from the Family Church to the Messiah’s Church—the Second Coming of the Messiah’s Church.” (Applause.) But many church leaders aren’t interested. … I don’t know why. (Laughter.)

We must clearly understand—not only understand but believe in it 100 percent. From there, you can have the greatest outcome. If you don’t believe in it 100 percent, you can’t see God and you can’t hear God’s voice. This is the Principle.

You know, when I heard that True Mother was to speak at Madison Square Garden, I was not hopeful. However, I really wanted to unite with True Father’s spirit 100 percent. And I really wanted to serve Heavenly Parent 100 percent. Not just from my desire, but also I truly wanted to get direction from the spirit world. So, I did a prayer condition. I circled Madison Square Garden for 120 days. Every day and night. Sometimes I was traveling, but whenever I came back to New York, I walked around Madison Square Garden. And then I got instructions from the spirit world, and we could gain the victory centering on True Mother.

If you are struggling, pray. And try to unite 100 percent with True Parents. Then your struggling will be eliminated the next second. The next second! (Applause.) This is my experience of the last five years, centering on True Mother. Whenever I sincerely and earnestly pray before Heavenly Parent and True Parents, God answers me. I don’t have to wait months or years—the answer comes the next day. Even one second later.

We need a direct relationship between Heaven and us. This is True Parents’ idea. True Father has said: “If you don’t believe what I am talking about today, go back home and pray about this. And God will answer you.” Father Moon’s message today is still 100 percent correct.

Many people say we have many problems. Yes, there are so many problems throughout the world. Yes, we have them in our community. But this is because we have no faith in True Parents. This is the cause of so many problems.

I ask myself, how can I return my community back to True Parents, back to Heavenly Parent? I must testify all the way what True Father has mentioned: Unite with True Parents. This is the only way we can come back to God and True Parents.

Don’t think too much about it. Just start with one problem and pray. As you practice this, you can get the answers.

I am preaching around the nation and around the world about this matter. And God’s blessing is coming. Believe in it. And you will see. You will feel joyfulness.
