FFWPU USA President Encourages Unity in New Jersey
On August 20, 2017, FFWPU USA President Rev. Richard Buessing visited the Clifton Family Church in New Jersey, delivering a unifying message and engaging with the diverse, vivacious Unifcationist community.
Rev. Buessing gave a sermon entitled “Having a Vision” to a chapel filled with Unificationists from all across New Jersey. In the sermon, he emphasized the importance of having a vision on both an individual and world level, quoting Proverbs 29:18, which said “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” Rev. Buessing explained this imperative by detailing how both God, our Heavenly Parent, as well as our True Parents have continued to have visions for humankind.
Drawing from True Father’s words, Rev. Buessing illustrated the amazing vision God had when he created humanity by delving into the anatomy of the human face. As True Father had explained in his teachings, Rev. Buessing explained to those in attendance, “Our eyelids protect us from the sun. Our eyelashes protect us from dust. Our tear ducts keep our eyes moist and prevent them from drying. All of these things on our face alone would have taken at least 10,000 years to think of.” He paused, continuing, “This is the kind of vision that God had for us on an individual level. In the same way, God continues to have a vision for the entire world.”
In order to improve as individuals, Rev. Buessing maintained, people must connect with one another and have both individual and public purposes. Essential to connecting with one another, and ultimately building a harmonious world consisting of ideal families, he continued, is sharing our hearts, our testimonies, and our lives with one another:
“As a community, we have to get to know each other. When we share our testimonies, we see how God has worked in the other person’s life. You would never forget each other because you shared that experience. The more people we share our lives with, our lives become much bigger, creating a world of happiness. That’s why we should reach out to people and share our hearts with one another, because that’s what real liberation is about.”
After sharing his heart during the Sunday Service, Rev. Buessing had the opportunity to do the same with Hispanic Unificationists of the New Jersey community, who hold a service in Spanish every month. Since being appointed FFWPU USA President in July, Rev. Buessing continues to share his heart for True Parents and our Heavenly Parent to Unificationists on a national level.
