Unificationists Present at Recent Interfaith Council Meeting
In Kansas City, people of many cultures and faiths recently came together for an interfaith gathering and celebration. On May 8-9, believers of the Unification faith and members of dozens of other congregations and traditions came together for the Greater Kansas City Interfaith Council meeting and subsequent Table of Faiths event. At the meeting, Unificationist Peter Saarna gave an impassioned lecture about the Last Days, followed by a question-and-answer session. The next day, the Interfaith Council hosted a Table of Faiths event with the theme “Faith, Food, and our Future Together.” Participants showcased dishes from cultures and faiths around the world. Mieko Saarna, Christelle Carlson, and other Unificationists used the opportunity to present and explain the “offering table,” a common feature of Unification holy days and a tradition that symbolizes our offering the first and best fruits—literally and figuratively—of our efforts to God. Over 300 Kansans attended the weekend’s events.
