The FCNYC Welcomes Dr. Balcomb and National Council
The Family Church of New York City (FCNYC), which gathers each Sunday in midtown Manhattan, welcomed several guests of honor at a festive April 2nd Sunday Service: Dr. Michael Balcomb, FFWPU USA President, gave the morning’s sermon; the FFWPU USA National Council headed by FFWPU USA Vice President Mari Curry were present for the service and their subsequent National Council meeting; and four New York FFWPU pastors, including District Pastor Rev. Edner Pierre-Louis, attended. In total, there were 220 present, and “it was an outstanding Sunday Service,” said FCNYC Pastor, Dr. Tanya Edwards.
The service began with a song by the church choir, followed by a video of Rev. Robert Upton from Nashville, TN, a Country Gospel Singer with an Emmy Award Song. Following the musical ambiance, Dr. Balcomb gave an encouraging sermon titled, “Heed The Call.” He read from the Bible about Samuel being called by God and not recognizing that it was a call from God. The essence of his message was that we must heed the call when God is calling us to do something.
The service ended with high spirits and a potluck lunch.
