Foundation Day Victory Celebration
On February 10, a victory celebration for the fourth anniversary of Foundation Day was held concurrent to the Universal Peace Academy (UPA) graduation ceremony.
It was a more intimate gathering than many of this week’s major events, with around 300 people in attendance, and True Mother gave a brief but personal message, joking about the number of times she has had to speak during this busy week, and also sincerely thanking everyone for all of the work they have done to make the past week’s events possible. Picking up from where she left off in her Foundation Day address, she spoke again about the Springtime, taking initiative centered on True Parents, and having courage in our work for peace.
The program also featured a video overview of the week’s events, and several reflections and presentations. Byung Ho Son, Chairman of UPF Korea, gave a report about demographics and attendance of UPF events, and plans for future events and programs. Dr. Thomas Walsh, President of the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) International, shared a touching reflection about the week’s events, and his efforts to testify to True Parents.
The second graduating class of UPA received their commissions and a ring from True Mother, who unexpectedly and personally placed the rings on the finger of each of the cadets.
