The True Meaning of True Children’s Day

Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, FFWPU North America Continental Chairman, gave the following message at East Garden on November 2, 2016, on the occasion of the 57th True Children’s Day.

Don’t you feel we have a more uplifted spirit today celebrating two Holy Days? A few days ago, around 25 students came from Sun Moon University along with three professors. They visited Bridgeport and the New Yorker, and they had a sightseeing tour, also coming here to East Garden. Not all of them are second-generation Unificationists or FFWPU members; half of them are not members. They visited East Garden and Belvedere, and afterward, they had planned to go to the UN for more sightseeing, as for most of them it was their first time in America. However, I heard that after they came here and had a nice lunch here, they didn’t want to go to any other place. They wanted to stay here.

As we mentioned on the way to East Garden this morning, when we enter the gate of East Garden, it’s as though the spirit world and True Father and True Mother are really welcoming us.

Today we celebrate True Children’s Day and Gae Cheon Cheol, as well as the kickoff meeting for the sake of 100 days until Foundation Day 2017. Let us prepare internally and externally for the sake of God’s providence, especially in America. We already discussed and heard about FFWPU USA’s strategic plan and how we can work together, prepare well, and offer this nation for the sake of God and True Parents.

In the Cham Bumo Gyeong, who are the true children? We are. You are true children. What True Father defined as true children was whoever inherited the spirit of True Parents. You carry True Parents’ spirit. You are the true children. So we are all true children. We are all true children and we celebrate this more than anybody else. We take ownership for this day.

After True Parents set up this day, True Parents set up Heavenly Parent’s Day. After they restored everything before Heavenly Parent’s day, True Parents offered everything for the sake of God. This is True Father’s and True Mother’s indemnity. On that foundation, we are here today celebrating True Children’s Day for the first time ever in human history. Since our ancestors fell, no one really restored this day before Heavenly Parent.

Actually, True Parents wanted to have a celebration like Thanksgiving day on this day. Fifty-seven years ago, True Father called family members together saying, “Let us have a Thanksgiving day like America celebrated, on True Children’s Day,” but True Father mentioned later on, “Let us celebrate the day when America celebrates Thanksgiving day like True Children’s Day.”

We all become true parents, true teachers, and true owners. Before that, we represented the satanic world–false parents, false teachers, and false owners. We lost our God-centered lineage. False love, false life, false lineage. This is caused by our ancestors who disobeyed Heavenly Parent’s directions and guidance. So how can True Father and True Mother restore this day? After True Parents’ Holy Wedding. These Holy Days are very historical, but there are many Holy Days and many celebrations, because True Parents as Second Coming Messiah lay down all kinds of foundations for the sake of Heavenly Parent, and for the sake of human beings to become true parents, true children, and true owners of all things Heavenly Parent created.

Through messages, through truth, True Parents really restored some essential foundations and our God-centered heart. This is the meaning behind our celebration today. We become true parents, true children, and true owners, and we are related to God’s blood lineage through True Parents’ blessing and True Parents’ love. This is the meaning for why, today, we become true children.

According to True Parents, “all human beings from this day on, I bless each one of you.” You are true children centered on True Parents; this is the meaning of today.

In order to restore what we lost since our ancestors fell, before True Parents declared this Holy Day they restored everything. This is the great foundation we are on. This is how we bless all humankind; it is not only True Parents’ nation, but also true children’s. True Parents raised us up and prepared the foundation. From now on they can call us true children. Not only that, parents become true parents and then become tribal messiahs.

We have these titles: true children, true parents, and messiah, like True Parents. This means True Parents gave everything they have. They didn’t say, “This is only my title. This is my position; you cannot have this.” No, True Father and True Mother gave everything. If they have a title, any title, centering on Heavenly Parent, or any external properties, everything belongs to you. This is mine, this is yours. This is what we call One Family Under God. We often say we are One Family Under God, but we have to really understand the meaning of One Family Under God is that of parent-and-child relationships.
