Bay Area Families Attend Camp Together
Contributed by Jonathan and Eri Combs

Seventy Unificationists had a wonderful time at the 30th annual Family Camp held by the Bay Area Family Church. From August 17-21, their week was filled with family fun and interactive activities while surrounded by the scenic view of Camp Royaneh.

The day would start with the children attending art and science classes where they enjoyed designing their own T-shirts and experimenting with bottle rockets. Family Free Time would take place in the afternoon, where families could experience archery, bb-guns, pottery, swimming, hiking, puzzles, as well as a yoga class. The night was even filled with fun activities like carnival games, and one night a talent night was held. The staff performed skits and families offered their special talents.

Participants also had a chance to complete small service projects and hiking as part of the family education portion of the camp called “A Principled Life.” They received guidance from Rev. Kevin Thompson on parenting and husband and wife relationships. There was a talk from Geraldine Linek on lessons people can learn from children’s books, as well as some professional mentorship guidance from Mr. Bento Leal.

The camp was filled with much family involvement as well as relationship development. There was great fellowship between the families while spending time in nature. The camp enriched their lives in a loving way.
