Checking in with International Workshop Participants
On the evening of July 18, Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, Continental Chairman of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) in North America, and Dr. Michael Balcomb, President of FFWPU USA, visited the participants of the International Youth 40- and 21-Day Special Workshops in Cheongpyeong.
Stopping by to say hi and wish the participants well, Dr. Kim and Dr. Balcomb each spoke briefly to the participants during their visit.
Dr. Kim reflected on his life of faith as a Unificationist, commenting about his growing appreciation for True Mother and understanding of God and True Parents. He also encouraged and congratulated the participants for making the decision to come to the workshop and take ownership of their personal faith.
“I am very proud of each one of you. You made the effort to come here and have these wonderful experiences. Not only are you growing in your understanding of the Divine Principle and True Parents–I hear that you are going on a pilgrimage of the Holy Ground sites in three days. This will be another profound awakening experience for your faith.
“I just stopped by to say hello and thank you, so God bless you and have a wonderful, wonderful rest of the workshop, and a safe Holy Ground pilgrimage.”
Dr. Balcomb shared about the ongoing international leaders’ meeting with True Mother, giving the workshop participants an insight into True Parents’ current vision and activities for global peace.
“True Mother promised God, ‘I want to restore seven nations.’ But which seven nations? True Mother wants us to be a part of the group that decides. Twenty-one nations are here, the Family Federation presidents of all those nations, and they’re giving presentations on why their nation can be champion nations of God.
“It’s really moving to hear the reports from all around the world, from different countries in Africa, South America, and Asia. It’s exciting to see how God is working in amazing ways.”
At the end of their stay, Dr. Kim and Dr. Balcomb brought out a gift of Krispy Kreme doughnuts of various flavors, as well as drinks and other snacks, which they shared together with the participants before leaving for the night.
