Peace Activist Speaks at Community of Faith Breakfast
“The Importance of Keeping an Open Mind” was the topic at a monthly Community of Faith breakfast in the San Francisco area.
Jeff Scharfen, a distinguished English teacher as well as a peace activist, was the guest speaker at the April 23, 2016 event held by the Northern California chapter of Universal Peace Federation (UPF) in the Bay Area Family Church in the city of San Leandro.
Mr. Scharfen, who is the Emeritus Chair of the English Department at Cardinal Newman High School in the city of Santa Rosa, quoted from True Father and Jesus in his talk, as well as William Shakespeare and the poets W.B. Yeats and Dante.
He gave a very heartfelt message about the need to bring hope, forgiveness and redemption to all people. At the conclusion of his speech, Mr. Scharfen was appointed an Ambassador for Peace.
