I am aware that the emphasis in DP refers to spiritual resurrection and that gospel narratives cannot wholly be relied on. That belief in who Jesus was is more important than the minutiae of the mystery of belief. However as Jesus is said to have drunk wine and eaten meat post resurrection then he did not die but was revived. His ascension up the mountain would have had a decent to the Damascus road where he encountered Saul/Paul and beyond to the heavenly kingdoms of the Himalayan mountains and beyond. The Apostles expected a return in their lifetime (This view is evangelized by Ahmadi Muslims)
