Accrediting Agency Affirms UTS Accreditation

At the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) session on March 3, the Commission acted to accept Unification Theological Seminary’s monitoring report and remove UTS from probation.
This is great news for UTS. The Commission’s decision concludes an arduous two-year process of review that began in June 2014. At that time, a team from the accrediting agency found that UTS met only ten of the fourteen standards necessary to retain accreditation and gave the school two years to come into compliance with the other four standards.
UTS has remained accredited throughout this two-year period, but the process of review and approval was a necessary step for UTS to retain its accreditation and to ensure that it remains a thriving educational institution moving forward.
Having successfully met this goal, UTS can now move forward with renewed confidence in its efforts to offer quality interfaith education and to promote extensive opportunities for interfaith relations both within and beyond the seminary.

“Compliance with the characteristics of excellence established by MSCHE gives students confidence that they are getting a high level of theological education,” said UTS President, Dr. Hugh Spurgin. “It solidifies everything that we have been working toward.”
Upon hearing the news, Dr. Spurgin expressed his gratitude for the assistance received from the Middle States Association and various visiting site teams for helping the seminary to successfully meet these challenges. He also expressed his thanks to the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) for its long-standing support of UTS and to all those who have offered prayers throughout the review process. Without your support, we might be hearing a very different story today.
UTS students pursue degrees which will serve as a foundation for ministerial work and leadership in many different settings. For more information about the academic offerings and opportunities available at UTS, check out the seminary website.

This is great news. Congratulations!
But please don´t stop here.
The UTS has to be recognized internationally.
It would also be nice if it had co-operations partners around the world.
